Work-related stress in the UK costs employers £51 billion annually, with absenteeism, presenteeism, and staff turnover as the main contributors to this staggering figure. 😮 Employees are facing mounting pressures—stress, burnout, and anxiety are on the rise, and many are unable or unwilling to ask for support. According to the Health and Safety Executive, over 17 million working days were lost to stress in 2022/2023, costing companies not just in productivity but also in employee wellbeing. 👀 While many businesses have made strides in offering wellbeing support, studies show there’s still a significant gap between leadership intentions and employee perceptions. CEOs may believe they’re doing enough, but only 69% of employees agree. 📊 🤔 So, what can organisations do to bridge this gap? 🤔 At Hapstar, we provide an easy way to monitor and support employee mental health—anonymously and in real-time. With Hapstar, employees can share their challenges in a safe space, giving employers a clearer picture of overall wellbeing without waiting for annual surveys or intervention. 🗣 This proactive approach to mental health support allows businesses to tackle issues before they escalate into larger problems, ultimately improving both productivity and staff retention. In recent years, we've seen more organisations dedicating roles such as Wellbeing Officers and Directors of Wellbeing, highlighting a clear shift towards prioritising employee health. 🙌 This rise reflects the understanding that employee wellbeing is not just a temporary focus, but a key driver of long-term business success. 💡 However, maintaining wellbeing's place at the top table can sometimes feel challenging, we know. Here are a few strategies to help ensure wellbeing remains a priority and doesn’t get side lined: 1️⃣ Position wellbeing as part of your brand – Collaborating across teams to promote wellbeing as a key element of your brand not only enhances your reputation, but also ensures it doesn’t become just another short-term initiative. 2️⃣ Engage senior leaders who believe in the cause – These advocates can help champion wellbeing as a leadership priority and drive meaningful change from the top down. 3️⃣ Align wellbeing with your broader business goals – Clearly demonstrate how investing in wellbeing can impact key areas like retention, absenteeism, and productivity. We understand that it can sometimes feel like an uphill battle, but strong support from senior leaders is essential to driving real change. 🤝 What steps have you taken to keep wellbeing at the top of your organisation's list? 🤔

In the UK, there are currently over 3.5 million women aged 50 and above in our workforce. For many, menopause brings a challenging variety of symptoms, from brain fog to severe anxiety and depression. Despite this, a lack of understanding, open conversation, and adequate support around menopause in the workplace often leaves women feeling isolated, stressed, and disillusioned at work. The truth is, failing to acknowledge menopause at work has extensive consequences. These range from increased absenteeism to greater gender inequality in senior roles, clearly demonstrating why a supportive environment for the women in your organisation is essential—for their well-being, and ultimately, for the success of your business. What steps are you taking to acknowledge and support women experiencing menopause in your workplace?

Are you doing enough to make people stay? 🤔 In 2023, CIPD survey data identified workload, burnout, and poor work-life balance as major factors driving employees to leave their organisations. 🏃♀️ These findings make it clear: people are increasingly unwilling to sacrifice their wellbeing for their jobs. 🧘♂️ Wellbeing requires year-round attention, not just on awareness days like Mental Health Day. 💭 It needs consistent, meaningful attention throughout the year. Employees now expect more than gestures; they seek environments where genuine care and supportive practices are woven into the company’s culture. 🤝 Building a workplace that truly prioritises wellbeing requires intentional effort and authentic leadership. ✍ As you reflect on your organisation’s strategy, consider: are you genuinely investing in creating a place where people want to stay, grow, and thrive? #WorkplaceWellbeing #Burnout #WorkplaceSupport

World Mental Health Day is here 🙌 And it's getting everyone talking, which is exactly what we want to see 👏 But what happens tomorrow? A recent survey found that a fifth of FTSE 100 companies only mention mental health on awareness days, with silence the rest of the year. This trend raises an important question: is mental health being treated as a genuine priority or just a yearly talking point? We’ve made strides in reducing mental health stigma, greatly helped by days such as today - but there’s still a long way to go. To make lasting change, mental health and wellbeing need to be part of our everyday conversation, not just a one-day highlight. How does your organisation keep mental health on the table year-round? #Mentalhealthday #Strongertogether #Workplacewellbeing
