HWC was on-site for The Omega Institute for Holistic Studies staff orientation recently, where our Founder/ Executive Director, Vivian Williams-Kurutz, delivered a two-hour Conscious Community workshop. The Omega campus was bustling with activity: windows being washed, the parking lot getting paved, and the garden being weeded. The staff is gearing up for an exciting array of offerings for summer and early Fall! HWC is looking forward to co-hosting the 3rd Radical Rest Retreat for Black Women Leaders with Omega, and attending Resmaa Menakem's Somatic Abolitionism Workshop and other sessions during the upcoming Omega Institute season. HWC's Mindfulness Based Racial Healing Program stems out of an understanding that while we address health downstream, it's also necessary to address the root problem of racism upstream. There are many approaches to this work. Ours centers mindfulness, art, storytelling, conversation, and human connection.
