Johnsongrass is a fast-growing perennial that can grow up to 7 feet tall and is able to spread easily by a system of rhizomes, which are horizontal underground roots.🌱 The grass poses a threat to the ecosystem because it is very invasive and is able to easily out-compete native grasses. What is Harpe Bio’s proven rate of effectiveness?⚡️ We've done about 300 - 400 global field trials and greenhouse trials. We work all across the United States into South America - Dan will be heading over to the UK & France, and look at the serial trials that kill black grass. We're able to create pre-emergent, post-burn-down, as well as desiccation products. We see fast-acting efficacy, whether it's used alone or in combination. Morning glory belongs to a family of unique and tenacious plants, which are perennial. The vine comes up annually but reseeds itself so successfully that you really wouldn't know it. Its weeds in the garden can be viewed as the enemy due to the rapid spread and ability to take over garden areas. Harpe Bio is developing a portfolio of natural-based herbicides. Director & COO Dan Pepitone sat down with Mike Adams to talk about Harpe Bioherbicides. Harpe is using plant extracts, and one of the main sources of our ingredients is the mint plant. Within the mint plant, a series of molecules that when formulated become new modes of action herbicides. We're really offering formulations that can be used in organic settings, and expand agriculture that way, or in combination with existing synthetic chemistries, really allowing those combinations to reduce the amount of synthetic chemistry you need and overcome weed resistance. One of the most interesting parts about Harpe Bio Herbicides is that we do build the products from plant-based as well as bio-based sources. Meaning we conceivably can put together, and are building out, different networks where a grower could actually grow some of these plants, produce them, send them off to be extracted, to make Harpe Bio Herbicide, and then use that on their field to follow a year. So a true circular economy, which in this day and age of having some really serious supply chain issues becomes even more exciting Learn more at HarpeBio.com #sustainablefarming #cropprotection #agriculture

What is the Achilles heel of the agriculture industry? According to Daniel at Harpe Bio, it’s weed resistance. It's nearly impossible to farm unless you’re killing your weeds, and we have not seen a new mode of action since Ronald Reagan was President. Can you believe that? It’s been a while. Weeds are a growing concern, as far as, how to manage them, how to handle them, etc.🌱 Weeds are becoming resistant to many products in the market. We are set with new modes of action chemistry that will help kill these weeds. Learn more at HarpeBio.com #weedresistance #agtech #farming

What if we could effectively control weeds without relying solely on conventional chemical herbicides? Embracing nature's power for weed control can lead to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future in agriculture. The late nineties witnessed the ""roundup ready revolution,"" offering farmers a new tool for weed control but also leading to the development of herbicide resistance over time. As scientists, we constantly face challenges, but it's our unwavering commitment to finding effective solutions that drives us forward. Tune in to hear how we have explored a vast array of plant extracts, almost like visiting nature's cabinet, seeking molecules with the potential to transform weed control.
