  • The first-ever MasterChef competition at Denison University was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and connection. Four student teams joined forces with Chef Patrick Rice, our CDC at The Table at Huffman, to take on the challenge of crafting desserts and pastries from mystery baskets—all in just 90 minutes. With Chef Rice as both mentor and judge, the event brought students and chefs together in a shared experience that highlighted the power of food to inspire and unite. We’re proud to support meaningful partnerships like this that make campus dining truly special.

  • On World Kindness Day, we’re reminded that even the simplest gestures can make a big difference. Madison Fishler, MPH, RD, LDN celebrated by hosting a special “Cups of Kindness” event at Wake Forest University. Each cup, marked with kind messages written by students for their peers, carried more than warmth—it held reminders of the power of kindness and community. These moments are more than shared treats; they’re an expression of connection, nourishment for both body and soul, and a celebration of the little things that make our community stronger ❤️

    Happy World Kindness Day! ♥️ I had the pleasure of capturing the moments from a special pop-up event hosted by our dedicated registered dietitian, Madison, bringing joy and comfort to our campus community. As students enjoyed cozy drinks and delicious muffins, these events go beyond just nourishment—they create a bridge between students and the supportive resources available to them. It's about fueling both body and spirit, offering encouragement, and showing that even the smallest gestures can have a lasting impact. Each cup carried more than warmth; it held a kind message, written by students for students, gentle reminders to take what you need and to pass along a little joy to someone else who might need it too.     This week at Elon University, we brought together 12 talented chefs, along with dietitians and sustainability coordinators from across the country to collaborate on innovative seafood recipes for our Mac’s Shack concept. By working together, we’re ensuring these new dishes are not only delicious but also responsibly sourced and nutritionally balanced. With seafood from the North Carolina coast, these creations will soon make their way to our dining programs nationwide, showcasing our commitment to sustainability.

  • Celebrating World Sustainability Day was a perfect opportunity for the team at Denison Hospitality to bring authenticity, collaboration, and personalization to life! Both The Table at Huffman and The Table at Curtis served up plant-forward, Coolfood-certified dishes and the team joined forces with campus clubs and departments to spotlight sustainable dining and connection through food that supports both people and planet.

  • We're so proud of our amazing team for stepping up when it mattered most. In the wake of Hurricane Helene's devastation in Western North Carolina, our associates didn’t hesitate to offer support. This is the heart of true hospitality—an incredible team coming together to care for our communities when they need us most.

    Chief Culinary Officer

    Hospitality is the act of welcoming and treating guests or strangers with kindness, generosity, and warmth. Our friends and partners in Western North Carolina were devastated by Hurricane Helene. I am so proud of our team. It took one call and one email. Mary said whatever they need and our North Carolina team members said when do you need us. We battled the weather and long days of cooking outside to provide hot meals for up to 1000 people per day. This is what Hospitality looked like last week.
