Changing the Destiny of Orphans Around the World.

About us

There are 153 million orphaned children around the world. While there are so many compassionate people who want to help them, they often don’t know how or don’t trust that nonprofits can make a tangible impact. We understand that a global problem like this can seem overwhelming and that it can be difficult to know how to make a difference. We believe that we can be part of the solution. At Haven of Hope International, we’re passionate about changing the statistics and setting a new standard of orphan care. We strengthen and empower orphanages and foster group homes by helping them implement proven programs and strategies that rescue, love, restore, and equip the abused and abandoned children they serve. By raising awareness, contributing financially, or volunteering their time, anyone can become a member of our family of hope and permanently impact the lives of children around the world. The reality is that 99.5% of orphaned children never get adopted. Of those, 60% of boys will choose a life of crime in adulthood and 70% of girls will turn to prostitution. If we don’t intervene, millions of children will never reach their full potential. Together, we can break the mold and revolutionize orphan care. We can help children grow up to lead successful, independent adult lives and create a widespread, positive impact for generations to come. Together, we can change the destiny of orphans around the world.

Last year, Liz Guthrie and I visited a sweet orphanage in Bolivia, and we were able to take our girls with us when we went again this past summer. It was such a privilege to see and be part of the amazing work being done by Haven of Hope International, a nonprofit committed to setting the gold standard in orphan care around the world. Earlier this year, I joined the Board and am excited to be part of this organization as we partner with orphanages and foster group homes to implement proven programs and sustainable strategies. Liz and I learned about Haven of Hope 15 years ago when a co-worker, Paul Bryan, shared about the amazing work they were doing to support orphans in developing and third world countries. Two things made us really excited about it: 1) the non-profit has very low overhead, so most of the funds donated go directly toward caring for orphans, and 2) the impact of support is amplified because the dollars are spent in parts of the world where the U.S. Dollar has significant buying power. As we near the end of 2024, if you are able, we’d love for you to join us in making an even greater impact. Your contribution will help us reach more children in need, implement new initiatives, and ensure that every child under our care has a hopeful and bright future. Donor support is crucial in helping us continue our mission of transforming lives and creating a better world for these vulnerable children. If you would like to make a donation, you can click on the red "Donate" button on the website at https://lnkd.in/esA4BK3Y.  Here is a link to our 2023 – 2024 Impact Report: http://bit.ly/OrphanImpact If you want to learn more, please reach out! We’d love to share additional details about this amazing work!

I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Matonyok Children's Home in Arusha, Tanzania, this December to meet the amazing youths and children. It was a joy to interact with them and have a lively session filled with learning, sharing, and inspiration for the mentorship. 🙌 I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Alice Sweet, the visionary founder of Haven of Hope International, for her unwavering support and dedication to empowering vulnerable children worldwide. Your work is instrumental in making this mission impactful, and we are so grateful for the difference you continue to make! ✨ Together, we are paving the way for brighter futures. Here is to the transformative power of mentorship and the restoration and hope it brings. 🤝 #MatonyokChildrensHome #HavenOfHopeInternational #RoadToMentorshipInTanzania #PartnershipForTheGoals

  • Neema’s journey has been nothing short of a miracle, and it's all thanks to the power of prayer and the support of so many! Despite her battle with HIV, she is currently in Southern California awaiting a life-saving kidney transplant. Neema is still searching for a kidney match, and in the meantime, we are helping to cover her monthly caregiver and nurse costs. We invite you to share Neema’s story, keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and consider donating to help support her care. Every bit of support makes a difference.
