The Health Care Transformation Task Force is an industry consortium that brings together patients, payers, providers and purchasers to align private and public sector efforts to clear the way for a sweeping transformation of the U.S. health care system. We seek to provide a critical mass of business, operational and policy expertise from the private sector that, when combined with the efforts of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other public and private sector stakeholders, can accelerate the pace of delivery system transformation. Our members represent every sector of health care. While at times we have competing interests, we share a common commitment to transform our business and clinical models to deliver the Triple Aim of better health, better care and lower costs. Our outputs will not reflect the simple self-interest of any one organization or market segment, but rather agreement on common private and public approaches that will best facilitate transformation.

Behavioral health care is long overdue for transformation through innovation. 🏥 Millions of people, particularly women and communities of color, face mental health and substance use challenges without adequate support. Women are disproportionately affected with higher rates of mental illness and higher rates of unmet behavioral health needs. The Innovation in Behavioral Health (IBH) model from Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) aims to improve access and health outcomes by integrating physical health and behavioral health services within trusted community-based behavioral health practices, offering a “no wrong door” approach to whole-person care. This model prioritizes health equity through screening for health related social needs and invests in building the health IT infrastructure. The Health Care Transformation Task Force along with other stakeholders joined together to urge Congress to extend Medicare's advanced alternative payment model (APM) incentive payments. These funds play a pivotal role in fostering #ValueBasedCare, encouraging broader participation, and expanding the benefits of APMs to rural and underserved communities.
Time is running out for Congress to extend Medicare’s incentive for value-based care. Without this vital incentive, tens of thousands of clinicians may leave value-based models, affecting millions of patients and turning the clock backward on our healthcare system.
