  • If you are in the beginning stages of medtech product development, then you can be thinking of ways to be more sustainable from the start.   However, if you have an established product and it's not feasible at this time to make your products with more sustainable materials, there are things that medtech companies can do to implement more sustainable practices.   Could you make changes in your actual offices? What about your manufacturing plants? Things like heating, lighting, etc. don't change the production of your products, but can make a difference in other ways.   Sustainability consultant Jennifer Michelle, MPH explained some of the ways medtech companies can move to more sustainable practices on the podcast. If you'd like to hear more from this episode, you can find the link in the comments.

  • Respiratory diseases affect a large part of the population, and early intervention can make a tremendous difference in the treatment of these conditions. However, that often requires patient monitoring to identify early signs and get a diagnosis.   electronRX is focusing on solutions that enable patients to monitor their respiratory function and other key data points that their physicians need. This can not only help with diagnosis, but also continued monitoring to ensure if interventions are working.   Here, Dr. Bipin Patel explains electronRX’s initial mission. To hear more from our interview, you can find the link to the full episode in the comments.

  • Cybersecurity and compliance are often thought as a "need to have" for medtech products. It's rarely highlighted as a selling point. But what if it could be? In the healthcare space, security and compliance are must-haves. Your customers have to make sure that these things are covered before they can even begin to consider your product. By talking about it in your marketing materials, you can start to alleviate some of that concern upfront so that you can open up the discussion to the other key features of your product. https://lnkd.in/gsaXEJyc

  • It all comes back to data. When running campaigns, before you look at making any big changes to your campaigns or increasing spend, look at what the data is telling you. And if you don't have enough data to make a decision, then it's beneficial to work with someone who can help you figure that out. Aaron Burnett, founder & CEO of Wheelhouse Digital Media Group, joined us on the Health Connective Show to share his insights on running successful digital campaigns in medtech. Large medtech companies certainly have a lot of advantages in the market, but there are some things that are easier to do at a small company. On the latest episode of the Health Connective Show, Jantzen C. explains how smaller medtech companies have the ability to be a bit more dialed in with their efforts because they typically don't have as many products to market. Being able to focus gives you the opportunity to try different things and really hone in on your strategy in a way that larger companies often cannot. If you'd like to hear more from this episode, I've linked it in the comments below.

  • How is your marketing creating connections with your customers? What does it make them feel? That's one of the many questions we're exploring in next week's Health Connective Show episode.

Honestly, reviewing this clip made me go back and rework some of my own marketing messaging: "While we're all generally behind a product, what moves people to a product more often than not is some type of emotion, some sort of connection. "And me as a consumer, I don't connect well to inanimate objects, but I do connect well to people. So a lot of my shifts and changes began with the question, what makes me feel, what makes people feel?” The full interview with Jantzen C. goes live next week, containing plenty more medtech marketing wisdom.

  • It's important for medtech marketers to work with engineers to gain a better understanding of what they do and how the product works, but there are also a lot of great resources out there to help us understand the basics so that we can ask the right questions. As Lindsey Dinneen, MBA, MS points out here, there is a wealth of information online, from podcasts and webinars to articles and white papers, that we as marketers can use to continue our education and strengthen our understanding of the industry and product to craft the right message. To hear more of our discussion with Lindsey, you can find the full podcast episode in the comments ⬇️

  • There are a lot of medtech apps and websites that can be used to manage the health conditions and needs of the elderly, but they are often not very user-friendly for the populations they are meant to serve. At Health Connective, we feel strongly about accessible UI and UX design--when you make applications and websites more user-friendly for more marginalized populations, you will often find that the end result is a more usable product for everyone. We had a great discussion about application development for older adults with Jennifer Cain Birkmose, who shared her experience in developing her company, VivaValet. The more we can give our intended user groups a seat at the table and really listen to their needs, the more successful we will be with our end product. • Custom implants are often an attractive option for both patients and surgeons because of the potential to improve outcomes, but sometimes the process of ordering and approving the implants can be a bit cumbersome on the surgeon's end. One of the common issues is requiring a surgeon to log in from a desktop computer. When surgeons are always on the go, it's not very convenient for them to do that. Here, Patrick Jamnik explains how Episurf is addressing this with easier approval pathways so they can keep the process moving while reducing the burden on the surgeon. If you'd like to hear more about our conversation with Patrick on The Health Connective Show, you can find the link in the comments below.
