About us
The Healthy St. Lucie Coalition seeks to bring diverse organizations and individuals together to improve the wellbeing of St. Lucie County residents. The Coalition develops a Community Health Improvement Plan and promotes a coordinated health message. Over 20 organizations participated in our first meeting on June 11, 2015, and sub-committees have formed to analyze health data, survey stakeholders and implement the strategies identified. The organization mission is to promote health where we live, learn, work, and play. Please check out our website. Thank you to our sponsors - Florida Department of Health, St. Lucie, Tobacco Free Florida, Fit Fixins and Martin Health Systems!

✅How to fit Diabetes Prevention Bingo into your Thanksgiving plans: 1- Get 8 hours of sleep in one night 😴 Cooking on Thursday? Try to get to bed a little earlier before the festivities begin. A good night's sleep will help you be more present with your loved ones. 2- Eat 5 fruits and vegetables in one day!🥗 You've got beans, greens, potatoes, tomatoes... add them to your bingo card! Consider sharing your new salad recipes by tagging us here-we'd love to see your creations. 3- Give someone a compliment!✨ Was the food delicious? Did your grandmother look stunning? Did your nephew's friend's cousin reach an exciting milestone? Thanksgiving is full of opportunities to spread positivity. Mark that thoughtful compliment on your card! 4- Try a new healthier recipe! 👩🍳 Get creative! Swap out some of the ingredients for healthier alternatives, choose reduced-fat options, or cut back on sugar and salt. Consider adding a new side dish to the table-it's the perfect time to experiment with healthier options! 5- Take a 30-minute walk (outdoors)💪 Picture this: You've just enjoyed a delicious meal and you're tempted to relax on the couch. Instead, take a 30-minute walk to digest and enjoy some fresh air. On your walk back, pull out your bingo card. It’s your fifth task for the day! There are many ways to engage mindfully in the celebrations. Whether you’re celebrating alone or with others, remember to be kind to yourself, follow dietary guidelines as best as you can, and most importantly, have a Happy Holiday!🦃 🍁 #diabetesprevention #diabetesbingoslc #communityhealth #publichealth
