Moving faster isn’t always about fast! Every healer, coach, spiritual person, transformational worker, heck every human, I know advocates for slowing down. But, in business, all you hear is “go faster, push harder!” Where can you get real support to slow down in a meaningful way that doesn’t just drag on your business? Sounds like a retreat, right? Then, what if you didn’t have to travel? What if you could take one single day and go really deep, clutter-clear your heart, and immerse in love, in the context of your business? Beloved, I’m inviting you to our Virtual Spiritual Business Retreat. It’s an offering that has been perfected since 2005, over the course of nearly 100 different retreats, with hundreds of participants over the years. Please join us February 25, 2022. The Virtual Retreat starts 9 a.m. eastern, Friday, February 25, 2022, and lasts into early Saturday morning. The Price: Pay From The Heart! Business strategy for spiritual, heart-centered folks and small businesses.
About us
Heart of Business, Inc. began life as Success by Design in 1999, an enterprise in which Mark Silver helped entrepreneurs create marketing that felt clean, was effective, and yet was authentic and felt like them. It soon became obvious that designing marketing materials was much more about helping the client access and trust his or her heart, than it was about the design process. Working with an experienced mentor coach, Anne Sagendorph, CEO of Support Systems for Success, provided a grounding in coaching, and what a successful practice can look like.

Humility is a powerful spiritual quality, and yet an unhealthy humility keeps many business owners from writing or speaking powerfully about their work. Is this you or someone you care about? We invite you to watch this free and surprisingly short prerecorded webinar, “The subtle, spiritual art of bragging about your business.” Mark teaches an approach that remains humble and yet gives you access to a power and confidence in speaking about your business… without hype. Sign up and the link to the recording will be emailed to you for you to watch at your convenience. https://lnkd.in/eM_igZsV #HeartOfBusiness #MarkSilver #HeartOfBusinessCommunity #PayFromTheHeartBusiness #SpiritualBusiness #SpiritualBusinessOwners #SpiritBasedBusiness #SpiritBusiness #HumilityInBusiness #SpiritualBusiness #AuthenticMarketing #ConfidentCommunication #HeartCenteredMarketing

Power is often described as an individual journey, as are most things in our overly-individualized culture. Many of our stories depict the savior hero who claims special powers, abilities, or just grit and determination to save everything. This is such a false and limited idea of power. However, in the rejection of that story, many also reject the embrace of personal power. If we are going to have group or collective power, a part of that is that each person has access to their own sovereignty, their own power. It can feel tricky, because you don't want to run other people over. And yet, we do need you, all of us, to stand in our strength. Sidenote: I'm not suggesting that we can never be weak, or tired, or that we can never depend on others. We can and we need to be human. Embracing and living into our power is not some kind of effort to be super-human or reject normal needs. But, when it is possible, in the ordinary flow of life, those moments, sometimes long moments, when we can stand in our power, it helps to weave a much stronger tapestry of community, and life and movement. Yes, this helps with your business, because this kind of strength, that arises from humlity and service, creates safety and refuge for clients to come in. And, it also helps in life, because of what's possible when you move through the world in your strength and sovereignty. So much healing, so much creation, so much joy is possible. Image: A pencil sketch I did of our dog Rocky (on couch) and his litter mate Cloudy (who belongs to friends of ours). I should probably spend more time drawing- I enjoy it. #HeartOfBusiness #MarkSilver #HeartOfBusinessCommunity #ConciousBusiness #ConciousBusinesses #HeartBasedBusinessOwners #HeartBasedBusiness #PayFromTheHeart #PersonalPower #Sovereignty #CommunityStrength #EmbraceYourPower #HealingThroughStrength

Ever felt disillusioned by typical marketing approaches? I joined Bridgette Boudreau in her Coaching Salon to talk about 'Ethical, Soulful Marketing That Works.' We debunk myths that hold back heart-centered business owners and discuss why marketing should be more than attraction and sales. We also explore how to witness people's struggles without exploiting them, creating marketing that is compassionate and connects deeply. If you're ready for marketing that aligns with your values, tune in. Plus, try the 'Untangling One Knot' exercise we discussed! Share your marketing challenges in the comments. https://lnkd.in/e2RMGuHD #HeartOfBusiness #MarkSilver #HeartOfBusinessCommunity #FeelGoodBusiness #HeartCentered #HeartCenteredBusiness #BusinessTransformation #BusinessAndLeadership #EthicalMarketing #HeartCenteredBusiness #SoulfulMarketing #CompassionateMarketing #MarketingWithIntegrity

My wife and business partner Holly and I were talking recently, and realizing that we hadn't sent out a survey in quite some time. Way too long. At the same time, we're starting to plan for 2025. The first course of 2025 is set, but the rest of the year is wide open. What I'm interested in: Where do you need help in developing your business? Where are you stuck? What topics are you drawn to, but not sure how to approach them or implement them? If you're willing to take literally a minute, it's a multiple choice question, with a spot to write in if you want, and an optional additional question if you want to tell us anything else. The easiest version is to tick your options, and click submit. It would be incredibly helpful to hear what you are facing in your business, what's a priority to you, and anything else you want to tell us. Thank you in advance for the feedback! A little introduction. I thought it might be useful to introduce myself, since I haven't done that in a long time, and based on a post I made recently that went sorta small-scale viral, I seem to have gained a good number of new followers. Bless you all. I'm Mark Silver, he/him. I'm in my mid-50s, grew up in Maryland, in the U.S. I'm white, middle-class, raised Jewish with my ancestors all Ashkenazi Jews from Eastern Europe. Immigrant grandparents and greatgrandparents settled in New York, in Pittsburgh, in Washington, D.C. I founded Heart of Business back in 2001. Since 1999, I've worked with small business owners who want to make a difference in the world, and they really need to depend on their business to support them. Spiritual connection. I'm a trained spiritual healer in an Islamic Sufi lineage. I learned from my Sheikh, Muhammad al Jamal, who when he was alive was a teacher at the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, and traveled the world teaching thousands of his students how to access Divine love, peace, justice, mercy and freedom through the heart. I am a designated master teacher in that lineage, and I have earned my Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) I grew up Jewish, and after some initial struggle that sparked a huge internal healing for me, I find that Judaism and Islam live together in my heart really easily and comfortably. They are, after all, basically the same approach. Small Business. I grew up in my family's small business, and I also grew to hate business. But, in time, I discerned the difference between evil global corporations, and the human-scale businesses run by people just trying to do good by their gifts and take care of themselves and any team they might have in the process. I've spent the last 24 years creating a wisdom academy based on a model of business development and heart-centered marketing that over 4500 people have worked with. It's beautiful work, and needed. I wrote a book about it entitled Heart-Centered Business: Healing from toxic business culture so your small business can thrive. I believe, among many things, that... ...every act of business can be, and needs to be, an act of love. ...there is a Oneness that we all come from, and all return to, and that love is the essence of our beings. ...we're here to care for each other deeply, and to know love. ...healing is needed in business. It's not the only place healing is needed, but it's a critical place, if we're going to transform this society into something sustainable. If you follow me, you'll get a mix of spiritual stuff, food forest/regenerative agriculture and homesteading, social justice, my family, and heart-centered business which is sometimes healing, and sometimes super practical. I'm leaving lots out, but hey, it's enough for now. #HeartOfBusiness #MarkSilver #HeartOfBusinessCommunity #PayFromTheHeartBusiness

I had the pleasure of joining a thought-provoking panel on Office Hours with David Meltzer alongside some incredibly inspiring leaders. Each of us brought our own unique journey to the table, from building thriving businesses to making an impact on young athletes and guiding entrepreneurs toward fulfilling work. I shared insights on leading a heart-centered business, while Jerome Myers offered his expertise in helping leaders shift from corporate to entrepreneurship with purpose, and Katie Keich shared her commitment to empowering young athletes through her non-profit initiative. This conversation was full of depth and actionable wisdom on how we can all create meaningful change through our work. Catch the episode if you’re looking for inspiration on transforming your career path or bringing more compassion and impact into your business. https://lnkd.in/ed6KShNi #HeartOfBusiness #MarkSilver #HeartOfBusinessCommunity #ConciousBusiness #ConciousBusinesses #HeartBasedBusinessOwners #HeartBasedBusiness #PayFromTheHeart #OfficeHours #BusinessTransformation #HeartCenteredLeadership #EntrepreneurshipJourney #InspireChange
