A recent news story about the Oklahoma Carbon Hub (https://lnkd.in/gUupumSA) has been drawing a lot of positive interest in the potential for a deep underground carbon storage site in Northeastern Oklahoma. Written by Chloe Bennett-Steele of StateImpact Oklahoma, a collaboration of the state's NPR stations including the University of Oklahoma's KGOU Public Radio, the story highlights plans for a detailed and far-reaching study and analysis of the local geology in Osage and Kay Counties that will be conducted by a partnership that includes, among others: CapturePoint LLC, the University of Oklahoma School of Geosciences, the Oklahoma Geological Survey, and the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The study is being funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and private resources. Our friends at Heimdal who built Project Bantam -- the largest Direct Air Capture (DAC) project currently operating in the US -- on the Oklahoma Carbon Hub site are also featured in the story. Our Site Manager Lonnie Hicks was recently featured in an Oklahoma NPR piece exploring the growing Oklahoma Carbon Hub of which our Bantam DAC facility is a key part. We're grateful to be a part of the community in Osage County and for our partnership with CapturePoint LLC.

The winter weather has struck at Bantam. Can we still capture CO2? Yes.

Appreciate the shout out from Erin Billeri at the Global CCS Institute that CapturePoint LLC is one of the companies poised to put "wins on the board" for CCUS in the U.S.! #CapturePoint CEO Tracy Evans returned from the meetings enthusiastic about the game-changing developments that are expected to demonstrate major progress in the coming year. Afterwards, Tracy noted that he received numerous follow up inquiries about three major 2024 milestones at CapturePoint LLC that are setting the stage for more exciting news from our team in 2025. First, CapturePoint LLC was the initial U.S. company to monetize the expanded Section 45Q tax credits for our carbon capture projects in Coffeyville, Kansas (from fertilizer manufacturing) and Liberal, Kansas (at the Arkalon biofuels facility). Together, those projects are currently generating tax credits on nearly 1 million metric tons of captured CO2 annually when operating at full capacity. For more: https://lnkd.in/e6-fJUYs. Second, our Oklahoma Carbon Hub (https://lnkd.in/eGU55JMJ) recently became the world's first operational multi-modal CCUS facility, with the launch of Project Bantam, Heimdal's on-site Direct Air Capture (DAC) facility. The Oklahoma Carbon Hub includes industrial CO2 capture (from CRNF's fertilizer plant in Coffeyville, KS); DAC; extensive CO2-EOR operations in the historic North Burbank Unit in Osage County, OK; and is conducting a geological survey with partners including the University of Oklahoma and Las Alamos National Laboratory to analyze the potential for adding a deep underground regional carbon storage hub. Third, our CENLA Hub project in Louisiana (which has the potential to be the largest on-shore deep underground carbon storage hub in the U.S.) signed major agreements in the past year with Energy Transfer (https://lnkd.in/evr2xWXy), which includes CO2 captured from certain holdings of Expand Energy; with Bia Energy LLC's Blue Methanol plant (https://lnkd.in/eFzEmAhM); and with Heirloom and Climeworks as they develop the Project Cypress DAC Hub (https://lnkd.in/er3cxgyZ ). CapturePoint LLC also acknowledged recently that we are considering options for expanding the planned CENLA Hub regional CO2 pipeline network in anticipation of more announcements coming in the next year. As he looked forward, Tracy Evans thanked the team at CapturePoint LLC and all of our partners who helped achieve these major milestones in 2024... and for laying the foundation for more of the "wins on the board" in 2025 referenced by Erin Billeri. #CCUS #CarbonManagement

This weekend Heimdal was proud to participate in and support the Ponca City VFW Veteran's Day Parade. We are grateful for our veterans and the service of active military personnel today and every day and are glad to celebrate those men and women with the local community in Oklahoma this Veteran's Day. Thank you to our site manager for Bantam Lonnie Hicks, for representing us in the parade, and thank you to the PONCA CITY VETERANS DAY PARADE ASSOCIATION for organizing the celebration for our veterans.

Bantam installation was completed two months ago now. Taking a moment to reflect, we are grateful for the essential support we have had from the State of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, Oklahoma Department of Commerce. True public-private partnerships are the way to build a large new industry, fast. Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has leaned in to welcome Heimdal to his state, and we couldn't be more grateful to be deploying our industry leading DAC platform in Oklahoma. We will be here to build and grow the carbon management industry for years to come.

We were busy this past week! Our CEO Marcus Lima went to Washington D.C. to speak with members of congress and the White House about Carbon Capture, DAC, and the value of robust federal support for the development of sustainable technologies. Ensuring carbon management has a durable pathway to scale, with policies, funding, and demand structures, will be crucial in catalyzing our growth to megaton scale CO2 capture and beyond! The broad enthusiasm we saw was encouraging, and we look forward to seeing it manifest in tangible outcomes that help these technologies mature.
