How many workers are juggling a full-time job and a side hustle? Nearly one in three U.S. employees has a side hustle — a gig or project that may provide extra income apart from their primary jobs — according to the latest findings of LinkedIn’s Workforce Confidence survey. Thirty percent of workers said they have at least one side hustle, while 65% said they do not and 5% declined to answer. This rate holds relatively steady across generations and genders. But unsurprisingly, employed workers who are currently job seeking are more likely to have a side gig: 37% said so. There’s evidence that more professionals have taken on extra work to make ends meet in recent years: Separate data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the percentage of people with two jobs is up year-over-year.
