BUFFALO STARTUPS - are you on the map? Back in 2020 we launched BuffaloStartupMap.com as a way to visualize the new companies emerging in our region. This fun side project received a bunch of interest and now we’re expanding its functionality - with the help of AI of course. Over the weekend, I spent an hour or so adding Filters, Search, and refining the UI styles. I used Cursor and Claude to get the new functions in and then updated the CSS styles by hand (like a real craftsmen!) Back when we launched, Jonathan Hutchison (who helped us grow Helm Experience & Design for 6y) and myself coded it by hand and brought to life a wonderfully simple and fun, map-first web app. Now, we extend its capabilities with the assistance of AI.
