  • We are excited to announce that Herringbone have recently become members of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC). Over several months, we underwent a thorough vetting process by the AESC, which included interviews with experienced members from leading global executive search firms. While the process was rigorous, it was also an enjoyable experience, as we were well-prepared and deeply aligned with the values that the AESC upholds. The AESC and its members share a strong commitment to the highest quality standards in executive search and leadership consulting - benefiting clients, candidates, and the profession as a whole. We look forward to sharing our insights and learning from fellow member companies, embracing a spirit of collaboration and growth. • I thought some important information and dates on New EU A.I. Regulations could be useful to the Herringbone network. Effective 1st August 2024 Global Repercussions: The AI Act applies to any AI system's output used within the EU, meaning that non-EU companies, including those in the US and other global markets, will need to comply if their AI products or services are used in the EU. For instance, high-risk AI systems developed outside the EU but integrated into products sold within the EU will need to adhere to the Act's requirements. Important Dates: February 2, 2025: Provisions on banned AI systems will start applying. August 2, 2025: Regulations for general-purpose AI systems (GPAI) will begin to apply. August 2, 2026: Most obligations, particularly for high-risk AI systems, will come into effect. August 2, 2027: Some obligations for high-risk AI systems that are safety components in products regulated under existing EU health and safety legislation will start applying.

  • Some very important AI news! On 21st of May 2024, the Council of the EU presented a press release about the Artificial Intelligence Act. It is major legislation that will have far-reaching effects in the coming years. Here is a link to an article outlining the release https://lnkd.in/gqNcEbyP - I thought worth sharing for those who wish to familiarise themselves with the regulations to come/future regulations/imminent regulations. Interestingly, The EU Commission will have the power to fine companies that breach the AI Act as much 35 million euros ($38 million) or 7% of their annual global revenues — whichever is higher. AI is pervasive, and every one of us is flurrying to adopt it in our own ways. We can't afford to be left behind. Get to know the beast before you tame it!

  • Artificial intelligence (“AI”) continues to dominate global headlines and sits firmly on the boardroom agenda for businesses across sectors and jurisdictions. How will countries in the GCC look to regulate AI? Well, Saudi Arabia has just released a full version of its AI Ethics Report which looks to guide the ethical development and use of AI technologies within KSA. See a copy of the report below. To find out more on AI and governance across the GCC, please get in touch. https://lnkd.in/dV-uW73J
