This Thanksgiving, we give thanks for a decade of innovation, growth, and perseverance at Hesai! At our 🔟th anniversary celebration earlier this month, our CEO Yifan Li reflected on the challenges and breakthroughs that have shaped our journey, and he expressed our gratitude to everyone who's been part of our success. Here’s to the milestones we've achieved together: ⚡ From humble beginnings: We produced our first lidars by hand, which took 1 month for every 100 units. ➡️ Today, Hesai operates in-house automated production lines with a million-unit capacity and 100% core process automation, with lidar production taking just 1 hour for every 100 units. 🤖 Innovating every step of the way: In 2014, lidar sensors were expensive and bulky for many applications. ➡️ We are contributing to the rapid and magnificent evolution of autonomous driving and robotics through mass production and commoditization. 📈 Sustainable growth: We shipped 1200+ lidar units total in 2018. ➡️ As of today, we have shipped over 600,000 units cumulatively, and we expect to reach the 1 million units milestone in 2025. Thank you to all of our colleagues for their contributions, and to everyone who has supported us on this incredible journey. Hesai showcased strong double-digit growth of 21% year-on-year to $76.9 million in the third quarter of 2024, up from $63.6 million from the previous year. We also shipped 134,208 ADAS lidar units in the same quarter, marking our second consecutive quarter of nearly 50% sequential growth and an increase of 183% year-on-year. Deadly collisions involving camera-only ADAS and autonomous vehicles are on the rise, including a recent event involving a deer that was hit at a high speed without any reaction from the autonomous function-enabled vehicle. In contrast, lidar-equipped vehicles continue to meet high safety requirements, even in complex scenarios including night driving, rain and fog, and they consistently out-perform camera-only vehicles. The smartest and safest choice for vehicles equipped with ADAS and autonomous functions is to include lidar in addition to cameras and other sensors. #lidar #adas #AutonomousDriving #roadsafety
