Today, on Trans Day of Remembrance, we honor those lost to anti-trans violence. This year, 350 trans individuals have been reported murdered globally—an overwhelming majority being Black trans women. At HMI, we stand against this violence by providing LGBTQIA+ youth with safer, affirming spaces, grief support, and the community they need to heal. Together, we reflect, mourn, and commit to building a world free from hate. #TDOR24

They can speak with one of HMI’s counselors, connect through our partnered online community, Q Chat Space, recharge in the Kiki Lounge, participate in a creative art therapy group, or share a hot meal with peers. On Monday, HMI held its annual Staff Retreat at Fairview Lake YMCA Camp in Newton, NJ—a perfect day filled with team-building exercises and group activities, from candle-making and tackling the indoor climbing wall to canoeing, and s’mores. Highlights from CenterLink’s 2024 Leadership Summit in Chicago! Our CEO, Amy Harclerode, Chief Program Officer, Bridget Hughes, and our talented staff took part in an inspiring week. Luis Celestino and Christopher Murray shared insights on using games as educational tools for youth sexual health, while Reid Elwell, Camille Gaji, and Pearl McAndrews discussed authentic engagement in community-centered spaces. It was a week of learning, networking with fellow LGBTQ community leaders, and returning energized to continue our important work in serving LGBTQIA+ youth.
