About us

HeyApril is a Public Benefit Corporation (“PBC”) based in California with offices in Los Angeles, Red Bluff, and Manila. We are the trusted partner of accounting firms and finance professionals in providing access to highly-skilled outsourced accounting professionals in the Philippines. Our founders have over four decades of combined experience in the outsourcing industry. Argel has outsourcing tax and accounting experience from Deloitte working with Fortune 500 companies and conglomerates while managing a large team of professionals in India. Mark has outsourcing recruiting experience from the major BPOs in the Philippines from MicroSourcing to TaskUs and Concentrix (both a publicly-traded US companies). Argel and Mark are childhood best friends who got separated after Argel immigrated to the US. Two decades later, they got reunited by chance on FB and decided to co-found a new kind of company that puts people first. Their first client is Argel’s accounting firm, DTLACPA. As a solo CPA practitioner, Argel struggled to manage his growing accounting practice. Mark brought in his expertise in recruiting and in just 4 years the firm has 14 employees in the Philippines and rapidly growing thanks to our team of dedicated, proactive, and smart CPAs and accounting professionals. After many learnings and successful outcomes, we are ready to share our experiences, world-class processes, and technical know-how’s to our colleagues, partners and friends to help alleviate the struggles of running a growing practice. Our mission is to bridge the two cultures in a meaningful and enriching way that has never been done before.     Although this post is a bit late, I wanted to share how incredible my experience was at GrowthCon PH 2024, held at Ascott Philippines BGC earlier this month. The event, organized by The Business Manual and hosted by RJ Ledesma, was truly memorable. One of the highlights was reconnecting with Valerie Fischer the Co-founder of Pinas Sadya, a dear friend my wife and I met 11 years ago on a surf trip. It’s amazing how life’s journeys intertwine, and it was fantastic to catch up at the convention. Val also introduced me and Aileen Gallinero to Christopher Star, a serial entrepreneur known for his work in the startup ecosystem. It was a pleasure meeting him, and I look forward to exploring his insights in the future. The Startup Pitch Competition was another standout. Watching the presentations was eye opening, the entrepreneurs did an outstanding job, and the investors thought-provoking and challenging questions provided great insight. It was a valuable opportunity to refine our own pitch and better understand what investors and clients are really looking for. As a Co-founder of HeyApril Inc, this event wasn’t just about gaining insights, it was about connecting with like-minded individuals who share a passion for growth and innovation.
