Hi-Rez was established in 2005 to create exceptional online interactive entertainment and is now one of the largest video game companies in the Southeast United States, with three main divisions: Titan Forge Games, Evil Mojo Games, and RallyHere Interactive. Games created under the Hi-Rez umbrella include the award-winning action MOBA SMITE, class-based hero shooter Paladins, fantasy-inspired battle royale Realm Royale, multiplayer shooter Rogue Company and fantasy third-person brawler Divine Knockout (DKO). 🎶 Excited to share a highlight from Andrea Chang’s #GameSoundCon presentation! As the Audio Director on SMITE2, Andrea walked through the intricacies of setting up audio occlusion across our maps. 🎮 In her talk, she explained a unique challenge we encountered: right at spawn, some sounds weren’t behaving as expected due to the camera’s listener being out of bounds. The fix? Applying a custom audio occlusion channel to ignore out-of-bounds areas, keeping the in-game audio experience smooth and immersive.
