Small Stitch, Huge Impact. This tiny addition eliminates guesswork and ensures accurate material placement and consistent laminate overlaps. Over twenty years ago, HJ3 changed its fabrics to incorporate a "center stitch" for contractors specializing in pipe repairs. Though simple in concept, the "center stitch" is still relied upon by hundreds. This innovation guides installers to a perfect overlap every time, serving as a crucial reference point to ensure accurate coverage of the engineered repair. Without this stitch, applicators must rely on guesswork or "eyeballing", which becomes extremely difficult, especially on larger bore piping. If you are an applicator or operator struggling with old fabric technology, contact us today. #HJ3 #Composites #Midstream

HJ3 recently inspected a grain silo built in the 1960s with localized concrete spalling and a cold joint defect, likely caused by an overloading event. Moisture infiltration and soluble salt migration were accelerating reinforcement corrosion. This structure consisted of a 4-pack annex comprised of twin cement silo containers. The concentration of the cracks was near the base of one silo. Tests were performed by HJ3 to determine the overall remaining capacity of the concrete and to aid in determination of repair options. Given the results of the testing, the remaining strength of the concrete indicates that the columns are structurally capable of being rehabilitated. Fortunately, proper restoration using HJ3 Silo Wrap will extend its lifespan and prevent further deterioration at a lower cost than replacement. We are proud to be part of infrastructure repair in the Food and Agriculture industry! #Food&Ag #StructuralIntegrity #ConcreteRepair #HJ3 #Infrastructure #CorrosionPrevention #SiloWrap

Experience unmatched strength per ply, with fewer layers, reduced cost, and faster installations with CarbonSeal™️. With an average 40% reduction in layers per repair, you can avoid the cumbersome installation processes and delays associated with inferior glass and carbon systems. HJ3's CarbonSeal™️, a high-strength bi-axial carbon composite system, conforms to complex geometries of all diameters. It can withstand a wide range of temperatures and harsh chemicals. CarbonSeal™️ conforms for non-metallic repairs to ASME PCC-2, ISO 24817, API, DOT, and ASME B31. Check this out! Our team conducted an inspection in Oklahoma that was focused on a large clarifier. The client requested a detailed assessment of the clarifier’s condition, leading our team of inspectors to carry out ultrasonic thickness testing on the clarifier shell. This evaluation aimed to determine the remaining steel thickness and identify any defects, including through-wall leaks and previous weld repairs. With the data collected, our engineering team developed a customized repair plan for the clarifier to ensure its continued performance and structural integrity. This type of work demonstrates our commitment to precision, safety, and delivering high-value solutions to our clients. We are proud to support our partnered contractors through reliable inspection and repair services! #IndustrialMaintenance #EngineeringSolutions #OperationalExcellence #DataDrivenDecisions #CustomRepairs #InfrastructureInspection

Compliance with repair standards is crucial to ensuring the safety and longevity of process piping. Standards like ASME PCC-2 are required for composite repair systems for assets operating at extreme pressures and temperatures. However, engineering repairs must go beyond technical calculations. It is possible to install an ineffective yet technically compliant repair. Avoiding this situation is critical and possible with clear communication and proactive planning. Defects like circular holes and circumferential slots require distinct calculations and processes. Mismatched designs may lead to fewer layers, increasing the risk of failure over time. Clear communication and accurate defect data are key to ensuring engineers create effective, compliant repairs. Proper designs prevent costly failures and ensure long-term reliability.
