Happy 65th anniversary to Joe and Joanne! 👰♀️🤵♂️ Their honeymoon had an unconventional start with a stowaway in their car. "I heard a noise in the backseat of our car, so I pulled over," Joe says. "I opened the back door to find one of my wife's brothers lying down. I asked, 'What are you doing?!' and he said, 'You don't think I'm going to let you go alone with my baby sister, do you?'" Joe laughs. After that, it was smooth sailing as their beautiful marriage grew. "Our best advice is to always communicate and show love by doing little things for one another," Joanne shares. Now residents of Holiday Maple Suites, they enjoy time with their children and going on outings or watching performances with their friends and neighbors.

"I had some of the best times of my life taking care of children with disabilities," recalls Leola, a resident at Holiday Garden Village. For 18 years, Leola worked with students of all ages, helping them prepare for their futures. "I felt I was able to make a big impact, especially when I had nonverbal children. I had to create and implement specialized curricula that all the children could understand and learn from," she says. It was work that made a difference in the lives of her students. "It was rewarding when I would receive invitations to former students' graduations." Thank you, Leola, for supporting students' growth and success!
