LD 161, Resolve, Convene Stakeholder Group Tasked with Comprehensive Overhaul and Modernization of State Subdivision Statutes, has been printed and scheduled for a public hearing on 2/27/2025 with the Housing and Economic Development Committee. We’re excited about this bill because it supports directing development to designated growth areas by moving away from a one-size fits all approach that ultimately steers development to rural land at the fringes of villages and downtowns. The sponsors and backers of the bill need your help to get it across the finish line! We hope you’ll testify in support, either online during the hearing, in advance in writing, or in-person in Augusta. SUBMIT PUBLIC TESTIMONY: All bills and state agency commissioner nominees are assigned to one of 19 standing joint committees and receive a public hearing. Members of the public can offer testimony in support or opposition to a bill in person or via Zoom during the public hearing or in writing. If you want to testify during the hearing via Zoom, you must register at least 30 minutes before the hearing begins. You do not need to register to testify in person. https://lnkd.in/eAAZAXsV
