About us

Honesdale is a historic community along PA Route 6 and the Lackawaxen River with downtown shops, restaurants and beautiful public parks. At one time, Honesdale was the terminus of the D&H Canal which carried coal to market in New York City. Honesdale is also considered the Birthplace of the American Railroad having had the first steam locomotive to run on rails, the Stourbridge Lion. Today, it is home to thriving businesses, vibrant arts and faith communities as well as being a popular destination within the Pocono Mountains.
