🚀 We are hiring ops. → Junior to Head of Operations ⎢ Paris, France 🇫🇷 ⎢ €45-120k + Bonus + Equity → Hard & highly demanding position, but it comes with an opportunity to transform healthcare, improve patient outcomes at scale, and leave a lasting legacy. 🤔 Examples of background we think would be a good fit (bilingual): •Hospital Director, Deputy Director, or Director of Operations. •Ex-operations in other (healthcare) startups. •Consultants with 2+ years of experience in the healthcare sector. •Former founders in healthcare or other industries. 🎯 Key responsibilities: •Deploy Hoopcare in 20 French hospitals & support 200,000 patients in 2025 •Business Development & Marketing •Product Development •Corporate Support •Coordinate Regulatory & Compliance Processes 🫡 Cultural skills: Here are some of the cultural standards that guide our actions at Hoopcare: 💪You are resilient, whatever bad sh*t coming at you (and it will come): Since our launch, we’ve confronted bankruptcy, founder transitions, stagnant growth, COVID-19, and countless “no” responses. By joining us, you choose to face these storms head-on with unwavering conviction. No matter how far we’ve come, it’s still Day 1 and all our work lies ahead. 🙂 You are optimistic: When you’re in a dark place, you don’t feel buried, you feel planted. Healthcare is a hard and complex space to operate in, so you'd better be ready to get challenged. ⏱️ You culture self-discipline: At work and in life, you own your schedule, habits, happiness, and outcomes. 🧠 You value systems, habits & processes: You focus on improving the root cause instead of merely fixing symptoms. You see that great outcomes come from well-designed, repeatable processes. ‼️ You are comfortable with discomfort and urgency: You operate at an intensity most consider impossible. Speed matters, and we need results now. In such a competitive world, relentless effort is the only path to success. You don't think “This is hard,” you think, “Poor everyone else who has to try”. ... • 😶 One-third of patients admitted to the hospital for surgery for in-patient procedures faced complications. With nearly half of the events classified as major and most potentially preventable. BMJ Nov. 2024 Patients were admitted for surgery in 2018 in the US. Based on their definition of adverse events, that is just the tip of the iceberg of undocumented complications... Adverse event: "For each patient, the reviewers were allowed to document up to eight possible adverse events. When the reviewers identified an adverse event, they classified it into specific types, such as an event related to a surgical procedure, an adverse drug event, a patient care event related to nursing care (eg, fall or pressure ulcer), a healthcare-associated infection, or a blood transfusion reaction." → Link to the full article in the comment section: #surgery #anesthesia #healthcare

🌟 PROMs are no longer limited to clinical trials; they are now integrated into Hoopcare for routine use 🌟 Imagine performing life-changing procedures without measuring the impact on the patient’s quality of life… That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that Patient-Reported Outcome Measures are now a core part of the Hoopcare platform, with PROMIS-10, EQ-5D-5L KOOS and so many more. → PROMs? PROMs gather patient-reported insights on pain, mobility, mental health, and daily function. These standardized assessments measure the impact of a procedure, directly from the patient’s perspective—before and after surgery. → Generic vs specific PROMs • Generic PROMs (e.g., PROMIS-10, SF-36) assess overall health and quality of life, allowing comparisons across different conditions and populations. • Specific PROMs (e.g., KOOS for knees, HOOS for hips) focus on symptoms and functionality related to a particular condition, offering detailed insights ideal for tracking progress in that area. → Example: KOOS-PS for knee surgery 🦵 • How difficult is it for you to get in and out of a car? • How difficult is it for you to rise from sitting? • How difficult is it for you to go up or down stairs? • How difficult is it for you to bend down to pick something up from the floor? Each question is typically rated on a scale (e.g., “None,” “Mild,” “Moderate,” “Severe,” “Extreme”) to capture the level of difficulty experienced. → PROMs and Hoopcare Perioperative Copilot Integrated: Unlike traditional standalone use for clinical trials, our PROMs assessments are directly integrated within Hoopcare. This allows for seamless data collection and advanced analytics tied to preoperative and postoperative data, enabling: • Direct comparison of patient subgroups based on health factors, • In-depth analytics to drive better, data-informed care decisions, and • Actionable insights to improve patient care quality continuously. → Key Benefits: • 💰 Value-Based Care payments: PROMs are increasingly used to guide performance payments in value-based care contracts. • 🔬Clinical Research & Trials: Often essential in clinical studies, PROMs evaluate quality of life outcomes, ensuring treatments are genuinely impactful. • 🥇 Enhanced Hospital Rankings: Prominent rankings, like Newsweek’s Best Hospitals, reward facilities with integrated outcome measures, reflecting a commitment to quality care. Integrating PROMs into Hoopcare empowers providers to capture meaningful patient insights and improve care, one outcome at a time. #surgery #PROMs #Hoopcare #PatientExperience #ValueBasedCare #OutcomeMeasurement #anesthesiology

🛑 Day #1 topic → Preparing for failure Take home message from the American College of Surgeons Quality and Safety Conference. → Why Change Is So Damn Hard? Here are some common reasons compiled from Harvard Business School research and recent studies: #1 Lack of Urgency: Without a sense of urgency, teams may fail to push beyond their comfort zones. #2 Weak Guiding Team: Successful QI projects require a strong, diverse team with the right skills and expertise. #3 Lack of Unified Vision: A clear, strong vision is essential to gain organizational buy-in and sustain change. #4 Poor Communication: Ineffective communication can derail a project, especially without a solid plan to overcome barriers. #5 Lack of Short-term Wins: Short-term wins are necessary to maintain momentum and demonstrate progress. #6 Premature Celebration: Celebrating too early can lead to complacency and resistance to further changes. #7 Lack of Management Support: Ongoing support from top management is crucial for sustained success. #8 Inadequate Rewards and Recognition: Proper recognition and rewards systems motivate teams. #9 Scope Creep: Projects can become unmanageable if the scope is not clearly defined from the start. #10 Inconsistent Monitoring: Regular monitoring and control are essential to keep the project on track. → By being aware of these common pitfalls, organizations can better prepare and execute their projects successfully.
