Horizon folks returned this week to Connecticut Foodshare, the food bank serving all of Connecticut. Together, our team sorted, inspected and packaged over 9,000 pounds of produce. Last year, Connecticut Foodshare distributed enough food to provide over 40 million meals through a network of more than 650 community-based hunger relief programs.

Yesterday, Horizon team members from Farmington spent the afternoon with Connecticut Foodshare inspecting, sorting and packing 4,500 pounds of produce into smaller quantities for easier distribution across the state. Foodshare supports individuals and families, from one end of the state to the other, distributing nutritious food through local partner programs in an effort to alleviate hunger. Its mission also includes addressing root causes and creating long-term solutions.
