We are proud to announce that members of the Housing Alexandria team have attended three Virginia housing conferences in October and November: Virginia's Housing Credit Conference and Housing Virginia's Most Vulnerable held in Richmond and the Virginia Governor's Housing Conference held at Virginia Beach. We are especially proud that our President Jonathan Frederick presented on our Mega project Sanse Naja at the Housing Credit Conference and that we could be a tabling sponsor at the Virginia Governor's Housing Conference. We look forward to continuing to learn how to make affordable housing a reality in our community through interacting with housing leaders and professionals across the state of Virginia.

Shared equity homeownership is gaining momentum and Grounded Solutions Network Solutions is leading the way. Housing Alexandria is proud to be part of the movement with over 90 units of shared equity homeownership units in the development pipeline many of which will deliver in next year.
Access to safe, affordable, and sustainable homeownership has been and continues to be challenging in different ways for people of color, women, people living in rural communities, and those with intersecting identities. Racist and discriminatory policies and practices have denied people of color access to land, housing, wealth, and security. Read AFN's brief, Advancing Shared Equity Homeownership as a Tool for Sharing Property and Power Justly to discover how shared equity homeownership is a self-sustaining subsidy model for achieving affordable homeownership and how stable and affordable homeownership is an important way to build long-term wealth, increase a sense of agency, and create a path to economic security for individuals, communities, and future generations. We are so excited to share that the job fair with our Platinum Sponsor The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company was a great success! We had over 50 attendees with most of the attendants visiting every table. The vendors said that they met many strong applicants. There was also free ice cream and popsicles for anyone that stopped by! Thank you to everyone that participated!
