I remember I was at the Great Girlfriend’s Summit (shout out to Brandice Daniel and Sybil Clark-Amuti) and I mentioned on a panel that I had acquired an employment lawyer very early in my career and there was an audible gasp. I learned of the power of negotiation and retaining representation from observing and learning from one of the most powerful and most successful woman in my life…my godmother Margaret Daniels Tyler. There shouldn’t be any mystery or gatekeeping about compensation advocacy.
