About us
Human-I-T is a social enterprise that creates equitable access to opportunity by providing devices, internet access, digital skills training, and tech support for communities left on the wrong side of the digital divide, while at the same time, empowering businesses and organizations to do good by diverting technology from landfills to protect our planet.

👀 Ever seen e-waste turned into art? Meet the Human-I-T conference room centerpiece—a handcrafted masterpiece made entirely from circuit boards and components that would have otherwise been shredded and smelted. 💾♻️ And the best part? This wasn’t built by an artist (well, not officially, anyway). It was created by Rene Zamorano, our Fleet & Equipment Manager, who also happens to have some serious skills when it comes to repurposing materials. 🔥🛠️ We talk a lot about giving technology a second life—usually through refurbishment and reuse—but this is next-level. Not only does it honor our mission, but it’s also a conversation starter in our Los Angeles headquarters. What’s the coolest upcycled creation you’ve ever seen? Drop a comment—I’d love to see more creative ways to give old tech new life! ⬇️ #CircularEconomy #Ewaste #TechForGood #Sustainability #DigitalEquity #Reuse #Upcycling

We took our mission of spreading awareness about the importance of equitable opportunity across the globe. In mid-January, Human-I-T was proud to be present alongside SustainableIT.org and other business leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Among global leaders gathered to shape 'Collaboration for the Intelligent Age,' we spoke on AI equity and announced our goal to redistribute 100,000 laptops from companies across th globe by 2028. This is exactly the kind of collaborative action needed to ensure everyone can participate in our digital future. LA Wildfires—Tech Leaders Mobilizing to Help with Tech. Instead of letting unused laptops end up in landfills, let's come together to donate 5,000 laptops and tablets to those struggling to recover from the L.A. wildfires. 🔥 How You Can Make an Impact: 🔥 Phillip Ramón Leclair (CIO, City of Pasadena) and I are partnering with Human-I-T to lead this initiative. We’re rallying our LinkedIn and #CIO network to accelerate our collective impact. Many individuals in Pasadena, Altadena, Pacific Palisades, and other communities lost everything in the wildfires. They need resources to rebuild—including laptops to access FEMA assistance, file insurance claims, and help students keep up with their studies. 💡Momentum is Already Building! ✅ A Fortune 500 tech CEO responded within 24 hours of my request, joining forces with Laserfiche to donate 50 unused devices. ✅ A wireless company is providing thousands of hotspots to ensure connectivity. ✅ A global computer manufacturer has committed to donating at least 100 new laptops. ✅ Southern California SIM (SCSIM)/SIM Foundation/Society for Information Management have launched a SIM SoCal Wildfire Relief initiative and are partnering with Human-I-T, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and YMCA LA to provide relief funds. ✅ Innovate@UCLA, ISACA Los Angeles Chapter and others are sharing this initiative with their members to help expand our reach and impact. 💻 How You Can Help in 3 Simple Steps: 1️⃣ Check your inventory for decommissioned or unused laptops that are in good working order. 2️⃣ Securely wipe them (Human-I-T can assist with this!). 3️⃣ Schedule a pickup—available in all 50 states. 💙 Whether it's 5 laptops or 50, your contribution makes a difference. Please get your organizations involved! 🚨 Know someone in need of a laptop? Let us know! We’re planning a special Valentine's Day weekend delivery in Pasadena/Altadena to show love and support to our impacted community. 📢 Tag your network, share this post, and help us spread the word! Together, we can make a lasting impact. #TechForGood #LAWildfires #DisasterRelief #CIOsForChange #HumanIT #DigitalEquity

When disasters strike, there’s more than one way to show up and support. It’s been inspiring to see our AT&T employees across the country spring into action to help however they could. Some were on the frontlines deploying drones and robotics teams to provide critical wireless service to impacted areas – others teamed up to donate thousands of dollars to aid relief efforts, which AT&T matched dollar for dollar. This week, we’ll be in Los Angeles participating as a sponsor of the FireAid LA benefit concert, where all ticket sales will go directly to rebuilding communities impacted by the fires. We’ve also joined with Human I-T to host a laptop donation drive outside of the venue where we’ll encourage concert goers to join us in donating laptops to those who’ve been affected by the fires. In times like this, community is everything. I encourage everyone to find their own way to support the impacted families in LA, no matter how big or small it is. If you need a place to start, you can go donate at FireAidLA.org.

When our communities are in need, we mobilize. That fact remains true whether we’re talking about access to digital technology, or basic resources like food and water to weather the storm of natural disasters. Alongside American Red Cross, we ensured those basics were delivered to areas effected by the multiple fires impacting the Los Angeles area, and we will continue to do so until the area many of our staff and recipients call home, is safe.
