These are the numbers you need to be tracking for longevity ⤵️ VO₂Max - Your VO₂max is the gold standard of cardiovascular fitness, measuring how efficiently your body uses oxygen. A higher VO₂max is one of the strongest predictors of longevity and vitality. Resting Metabolic Rate - This data point will help you understand how many calories you burn at rest allowing you to fine-tune nutrition and training. Mobility - Through a movement screening you can get a functional assessment of flexibility, range of motion, and joint stability to identify imbalances, reduce injury risk, and optimize movement efficiency. To support you in your longevity journey we are excited to announce the launch of Human Powered Health: Longevity. Our Longevity packages were developed by our top performance physiologists to give you the most important data for maximizing your lifespan and healthspan. Introducing Wellesley Physiologist - Evan Hoyt, MS 🏃 Before working at Human Powered Health, Evan worked as a health educator helping underserved and uninsured populations manage various types of chronic disease. Following that, he attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls receiving a Masters of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology while also conducting research on how cycling biomechanics changed through a bike fit affect power output for his thesis. Through his obsession with understanding human physiology, he has become an avid trail runner trying to claim as many mountain peaks and ultra races that he can. His findings have lead to specialties and interests in everything endurance, and making sure others can achieve their goals as well. Today he is a data-driven physiologist working out of our Wellesley lab exploring his curiosity and helping others achieve their fitness goals through data.

I just got alarming results from a body scan. I used to get Dexascans at a place in Cambridge that told me me that my bones were in great shape. But they only showed me my average T-scores / Z-scores. Very misleading. Sorry, Dexafit, I won’t be returning. It turns out that my lumbar spine bones have low density. Big problem. But I’m grateful I caught it early. Human Powered Health did a Dexascan that reported in each of my bones. The skeleton is like a chain, and the weak link must be uncovered and strengthened. Fortunately, at the age of 47, I can train to fix the problem, before it lands me in a hospital or nursing home. Or leaves me unable to do the stuff I love to do or visit the people I love. Measure what matters.
