We are proud to support the Memphis 13 Foundation with a 2024 general grant to support their curriculum "Teaching the Memphis 13: Bringing the Civil Rights Movement to Life In our Classrooms and Community," which aims to educate teachers, students, and community members about local desegregation history, focusing on the Memphis 13’s experiences.

We hope some of Tennessee's humanities educators will apply for this funded opportunity to develop AI literacy.

There's still time to send in your letter of interest for the 2025 Neighborhood Story Project (NSP)! This place-based research project results in an active and informed group of neighbors able to make meaningful contributions to local opportunities and challenges. The NSP engages a team of 8-12 residents in a research project about their community. Over the course of 12 weeks, this team chooses a research topic, collects data to explore their topic, and concludes by sharing their findings in a public program. The research, goals and outcomes of each NSP are unique. Interested organizations should send a letter of interest by December 6. Participants will receive a free two-day facilitator training in Nashville with program designer Dr. Amie Thurber, lodging and group meals for the training, and up to $5,000 for the organization to conduct their NSP.
