Applications for the HWEA Scholarship and PONO scholarship are now open! Application https://lnkd.in/gHpwcjZ6 HWEA offers up to two $2,000 scholarships every year to provide financial assistance to HWEA members and their dependents seeking higher education, and to encourage academic excellence. Awardee(s) will be invited to the HWEA Conference awards luncheon at no charge to receive their award. The PONO (Peter Ono) Memorial Scholarship is a third $2,000 scholarship in honor of HWEA’s longtime friend, Peter Ono. Peter will always be remembered for his love and care for others. His family has graciously paired with HWEA to provide a third scholarship offering for students. The scholarship requirements are below: 🔷 Any dues-paying member of HWEA (including PWO) or member’s dependent (claimed as a dependent on the member’s most recent income tax return). Mahalo to the Hawaii Water Environment Association (HWEA) and American Water Works Association for kicking off the 2024 Water Reuse Conference with an incredible field trip. Attendees had the unique opportunity to see firsthand how wastewater is transformed into R-1 and RO recycled water at the Honouliuli facilities. R-1 recycled water can be used for irrigation after being treated through oxidation, filtration and disinfection, and RO recycled water can be used for industrial purposes after going through reverse osmosis.
