    BMW Ditches Electric for Hydrogen Here's Why 👇 BMW Plant Regensburg advances sustainable manufacturing with hydrogen logistics. The plant will deploy hydrogen-powered vehicles across transport operations by 2026. This shift marks another step in BMW's iFACTORY vision of sustainable manufacturing. Key benefits: ➡️ Quick refueling ➡️ Better space usage ➡️ Less downtime ➡️ Faster logistics BMW is installing a 2km pipeline with six stations for their 230-vehicle fleet. The system will consume 150 tonnes of hydrogen yearly at full capacity. Their transition from electric to hydrogen power completes by 2030. The Regensburg plant leads in sustainable manufacturing while producing 1,400 cars daily. BMW continues shaping the future of manufacturing. Global investments in hydrogen projects have grown seven-fold since 2020, reaching $75B. The industry now counts 1,572 announced projects worldwide, 434 passed FID. Key metrics: ➡️ 48 Mt p.a. clean hydrogen planned by 2030 ➡️ 1.75 GW electrolysis now operating ➡️ China leads with 1,150 MW installed ➡️ North America commits 2.4 Mt p.a. ➡️ 75% of projects are renewable An 8x increase in the current $75B of  investments is needed this decade to align with net-zero pathways. Success depends on clear regulatory frameworks, demand-side visibility, and effective industrial policies.
