📌 Applications are now OPEN! 📌 Applications for Hyundai Motor Group ‘s ZER01NE #Accelerator program are now open! ZER01NE, HMG‘s #OpenInnovation platform that fosters collaboration between #startups and HMG, has launched it’s accelerator program for the first half of 2025. The program aims to attract innovative startups from all around the world and explore the potential strategic use of their innovative technologies. Startups can apply to one of the six global projects proposed by HMG internal teams, which address three key themes: #mobility, #sustainability, and #logistics. Each applicant can apply to one project only. 🦾 Can Robots REALLY Work 24/7? 🦾 Apparently yes! Hyundai CRADLE in #TelAviv recently completed a successful #ProofofConcept (PoC) at Hyundai Glovis facilities, achieving 100% uptime for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) using CaPow's Power-in-Motion technology. CaPow is a startup that develops wireless charging technology for robotic fleets, which can enable 100% throughput by eliminating charging downtime. Conventionally, charging downtime affects the operational efficiency of #robots, and therefore has an impact on return-on-investment (ROI) on automation solutions. Our goal in this innovative and unique project was to challenge this by showing that robots can be operated non-stop for more efficient logistics #automation. Through the guidance of Hyundai Glovis professionals, we defined three real-life key use cases to measure the improvement of work-to-charge ratio for the AGVs. One key use case was a scenario that involved picking up goods in routes of various lengths. The results were conclusive: while traditional robots usually achieve about 7 hours of work per 1-hour charge, the robots equipped with the CaPow solution demonstrated 100% uptime, thus enhancing overall warehouse efficiency. This technology may in the future be applied in sites where wireless charging solutions are needed. A huge thank you to the teams at Hyundai Glovis and CaPow for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in logistics automation :)

To make them so, our #Berlin colleagues have teamed up with the French #deeptech startup Genomines and Korean battery partners on a new exciting #ProofofConcept project 🚗 Genomines' pioneering technology enhances the natural biology of selected plants to renewably extract #nickel from the soil. In fact, their first farm is already operational. Our upcoming PoC with this new technology represents a significant milestone for us, as we aim to source the nickel for #EV batteries in a more sustainable fashion. 🐬 Hyundai CRADLE is a Blue Whale! 🐬   Last month, Hyundai CRADLE #Beijing had the honor of being named one of the Blue Whale 50 at the Global Open Innovation Forum, held in Shanghai, China.   The Blue Whale 50 is awarded to global corporations who excelled in criteria such as open innovation participation, achievements, and #innovation #sustainability.   The Global Open Innovation Forum is an annual showcase of #startups from both #China and around the world, providing chances to demonstrate their innovative solutions, network, and celebrate outstanding members of the ecosystem.    This year, the forum focused on five key domains: #Fintech, AI+ Brand and Retail, #Biotech and Food, #AI+ Smart City, and #Mobility.    We thank the hosts of the forum--Plug and Play China and the Research Center for Technological Innovation, #Tsinghua University--and the jury for this honor. Hyundai CRADLE and ZER01NE, both of which are the key global open innovation platforms of Hyundai Motor Company (현대자동차) and Kia, proudly presented our pavilion in #EurekaPark this year. The ZER01NE-CRADLE pavilion featured a total of 10 #startups, all of who boasted groundbreaking innovations that will shape the future. We also hosted an engaging in-booth panel sessions, where Hyundai CRADLE and representatives of participating startups shared insights on the future of #CleanTech and #robotics.
