📆 2 Days 🕓 8 Hours 🤝 more than 60 Business Matchmaking Meetings I3-4-BLUE GROWTH promoted 2 intensive days for cross-country Business Matchmaking sessions between Project Promoters and Technology providers that applied to the previous open calls. This action was planned to promote joint interregional innovation & investment projects for innovative products, solutions, and strategies to address existing problems in the blue economy sector, in particular: 🔸 sustainable seafood, aquaculture and valorization of blue resources; 🔸 maritime renewable energy and decarbonization of the maritime sector. I3-4-BLUE GROWTH Capacity Building Program - Session 4️⃣ was dedicated to: 🔸 Maritime renewables energies and decarbonization - regional growth challenges and opportunities. The invited speakers Pasi Pajula and Karolina Bergvik from Wärtsilä presented an ecosystem that will build the future of energy contributing to decarbonization of maritime sector by driving technology solutions, services, and interregional partnerships. This capacity building programme aims to increase the capabilities of the participants towards interregional innovation investment projects. I3-4-BLUE GROWTH Capacity Building Program - Session 3️⃣ was dedicated to: 🔹 Blue biotechnology & valorization of marine resources - regional growth challenges and opportunities. The session aimed to explore circular models in the blue economy sector and the enhancement of marine resources, namely through marine biotechnologies and was conducted by the invited experts: Miguel Marques from Skipper & Wool and Celso Alves from MARE - Centro de Ciências do Mar e do Ambiente and ESTM - Politécnico de Leiria During the session, participants got inspired by opportunities for interregional collaboration in the blue bioeconomy sector, and case studies that served as a basis for discussion. A session dedicated to the importance of feasibility, business plans, and international partnership towards investment opportunities to scale-up and growth. The session counted on experienced speakers on the topic, Jarmo Saaranen from VNT Management and Alessio Caracci from Unknown Group, and was supported with educational material for peer learning business and investment readiness. This programme aims to increase the capabilities of the participants towards interregional innovation investment projects. I3-4-BLUE Growth aims to be an impactful project for projects based in regions that face challenges in aquaculture, fisheries activities, renewable marine energy and decarbonisation. Through a tailored Capacity Building Programme, the project aims to enhance the capacities of startups/SMEs to build and reinforce innovative ecosystems to develop a sustainable and smart blue economy. The capacity building program is based on 4 main topics: 1️⃣ Fisheries and sustainable aquaculture - Regional Growth Challenges and opportunities 2️⃣ Investment readiness towards business growth and scaleup 3️⃣ Blue biotechnology & valorization of marine resources - regional growth challenges and opportunities 4️⃣ Maritime renewables energies and decarbonization - regional growth challenges and opportunities I3-4-BLUE GROWTH Capacity Building Program - Session 1️⃣ was dedicated to: 🔸 Investment readiness towards business growth and scaleup.
