iAMP-Hydro Co-Development Workshop #2 On 4 December 2024, from 9:30 to 11:00 CET, the iAMP-Hydro colleagues will broadcast the second Co-Development Workshop, online from the Island of Cyprus. ⛱️ (just kidding, we'll work very hard there) This Co-Development Workshop is the second one of a series of five workshops, and will provide information about the status quo of digitalisation of hydropower plants, as well as insights into the development of a “Flow and available power forecasting model”. ☀️ 🌧️ ⛈️ It will be an open space for exchanging views and opinions, active participation is more than welcome. 🌍 You can register directly here: https://lnkd.in/dcSs6bJH .

Exchange with experts from PEN@Hydropower On 3 July 2024, iAMP-Hydro Project Coordinator Aonghus McNabola (TCD, Ireland) presented the project to 50 colleagues of PEN@Hydropower in a virtual meeting. He spoke about hydropower digitalisation in Southern Europe, informing about the challenge opportunities and preliminary results of the flow forecasting element of iAMP-Hydro. What if #cavitation in turbines could be detected BEFORE disaster happens? Well, #hydropower operators could save a lot of money of course, and more #sustainable_energy can be generated. The iAMP-Hydro Project colleagues from Trinity College Dublin have looked into the small versions, precisely into Pumps-as-Turbines (PATs) which are used increasingly in micro-hydropower applications due to their cost competitiveness. Though there is a higher demand now, limited research exists that investigates PAT failures. The colleagues from Trinity College Dublin CD have done this and have proposed a method which allows establishing clear #alarm_limits for the condition monitoring of PATs in practice. What about the Spanish #iAMP_Hydro partners? Will Cuerva and CARTIF participate live or online?
Come closer and get active! The iAMP-Hydro Project will hold its first #Co_Development Workshop in Granada, Spain, on 11 April 2024, from 9.00 to 11.00 CET, in which we will present insights into the "machine room" of the project. We not only want to present our project approach and the results so far, but want to discuss openly with you how newly installed or newly used sensors in combination with available forecasts and the help of AI can help the #industry to provide more #economic and #environmental energy generated #WithHydropower. Great that Easy Hydro is among the iAMP-Hydro partners who've been on a mission in Greece to assess the possibilities how to optimise the Makrochori hydropower plant (see below) by PPC S.A. by installing and using sensors to continue producing even more #sustainable energy #WithHydropower . Find out more about the project here: www.iamp-hydro.eu and stay tuned for our first public event which will be organised in (hopefully) sunny Spain. More information to follow soon.
