Please join the IATSE Education and Training Department tomorrow for a webinar that discusses The Great Migration—a period in U.S. History between 1916 and 1970, when the promise of non-agricultural work, higher wages, educational opportunities, and an escape from racial violence led six million courageous Black Americans to uproot their lives and migrate from the rural South to industrial cities in the West and North. During the Great Migration, Black people began to build a new place for themselves in public life, actively confronting racial prejudice as well as economic, political and social challenges, and exerting enormous influence across the entire U.S. in the decades to come. Presented by Gus Wood of the University of Chicago. Fri, Feb 14, 2025 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM EST Register here: https://lnkd.in/e2ZB25Mp
