Last month, as wildfires spread through Los Angeles, cultural institutions faced an urgent reality: without proper emergency plans, priceless artifacts and artworks could be lost forever. At the J. Paul Getty Trust Getty Villa Museum, employees sprang into action—not only ensuring their own safety but also working to protect the museum's invaluable collection. Thanks to meticulous emergency planning and a well-executed response, their efforts helped prevent devastating losses, as reported by NPR . 🎉 What an unforgettable experience at the ICEFAT 2024 Conference in Montreal! 🌟 We had an impressive turnout with 73 out of 79 member companies and nearly 200 attendees from 35 countries. We kicked off the event with a lively Women in Art Logistics gathering, followed by three insightful panels on topics like Consolidation, The Great Wealth Transfer, and New Clientele. Our two guest speakers delivered impactful presentations on art insurance and tech safety that left a lasting impression. Our evenings were equally memorable, from the enchanting atmosphere at St. James Theatre to the excitement of Hockey Night in Canada at Bar 1909—what a fantastic way to connect and relax! 🏒💃 As we bid farewell to our outgoing steering committee members, Chairperson Ida Ng and Renata Vinhas, we’re thrilled to welcome Lapo Sergi as our new chair, along with Melissa Osterwind as Vice Chair and newcomers Al Mithal and Patrick Epstein.
