Missing information and theories offered without evidence are just two of the many problems with the National Economic Research Associates’ (NERA) report on #iGaming in New Jersey. iDEA’s newly released “A Comprehensive Analysis of NERA's Study on New Jersey's iGaming Economic Impact” strongly refutes NERA’s report, finding it deeply flawed. Our study by Meister Economic Consulting, LLC, Victor Strategies, and Regulus Partners found that NERA relied on incomplete data, made unsupported assumptions, and used discredited models from the United Kingdom to estimate social costs. On the other hand, our comprehensive research, supported by the 2019 Meister study, reveals the true economic benefits of iGaming in #NewJersey: More jobs and tax revenue while complementing brick-and-mortar casinos.
