Our Credit Union was founded in 1926, and streetcars ran down the middle of University Avenue. The Robert Street bridge had just officially opened, and the average worker in St Paul was making about $0.25 cents per hour! In August of 1926, St Paul Postal employees, believing they could accomplish cooperatively what they could not do individually, organized their credit union. At the end of its first full year of operation, the credit union had 305 members and $11,291.15 in assets. TODAY, Ideal Credit Union serves over 50,000 members and assets over $1 Billion.
