🎄 Happy Holidays! 🎉 As we wrap up an incredible year at Idemitsu Americas Holdings Corporation, we want to take a moment to reflect on the progress we have made together. Under the leadership of Keitaro Sugihara, President and CEO of Idemitsu Americas Holdings, our team has expanded its footprint across the United States 🇺🇸 with offices in Silicon Valley, Houston, and Boston. Regardless of where we are based, we are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our stakeholders, which has been instrumental to our success this year. 🙏 This year, we made significant strides: 🔸 We began with our investment in Manulife Investment Management, Timberland and Agriculture's carbon-focused fund, Manulife Forest Climate Fund. 🔸 In June, we invested in and partnered with Anaconda Systems Limited, a Canadian startup pioneering organic waste composting technology under the leadership of Russell Zishiri. 🔸 Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd. has committed $114 million to HIF Global, and Idemitsu Americas Holdings is actively involved in driving collaborations with HIF Global to advance the eFuels market in Japan and establish robust CO2 supply chains. 🔸 In August, Idemitsu proudly announced its partnership with Emerald Technology Ventures to establish a CVC fund with a budget of 10 billion yen. Takumi Yamamoto of Idemitsu Americas Holdings is an integral member of the Idemitsu CVC team and is working closely with Emerald, as well as our colleagues from Tokyo 🇯🇵 and Basel 🇨🇭, to drive future investments and strategic initiatives. 🔸 In November, we launched a groundbreaking incubation program with Hatch Blue in Singapore 🇸🇬, working closely with 11 startups to explore new opportunities. We are especially thankful to Enterprise Singapore for their support, and to Wayne Murphy and Benedict Tan 陈勇安 of Hatch Blue for their efforts in organizing this program (to learn more about these initiatives, we invite you to visit the attached website). In collaboration with Hatch Innovation Services, we also conducted market studies exploring the potential of blue carbon in Japan 🇯🇵 earlier this year. 🔸 We continued our work with Azimuth Capital Management and their portfolio companies to drive impactful initiatives forward. From all of us at Idemitsu Americas Holdings Corporation, we wish you a warm and joyful holiday season. 🎁✨ We are excited to build on this year's momentum and look forward to achieving even greater milestones in the coming year. We are excited to share that Idemitsu Americas Holdings has invested in Anaconda Systems, a pioneer in the organic waste composting technology. Their innovative aerobic digestion technology enables organic wastes to be processed in less than 10 days with low cost, and in addition, their digestion happens in a closed environment, which allows the solution to be deployed in urban centers, where odor is one of the key issues for the solutions. This also greatly reduces the energy consumption and CO2 emissions for the transportation of waste since those are mainly generated in the urban area. Anaconda already runs a commercial plant in #Vancouver and developing businesses in North America. As the regulations towards landfill are getting stricter, and the transition from synthetic to organic fertilizer is in its trend, there is a huge potential for Anaconda's technology to be deployed and contribute to the realization of the circular economy. IAH have been pursuing new technologies and business models that could realize a resource circulation society and the local production and consumption of the resources, and have been discussing with Anaconda for the past couple of years. This investment is part of this effort, and we will keep working close with Russell Zishiri and his team to pursue business possibilities, with the aim of contributing to regional development and the realization of a low-carbon society. Please contact 本田 圭 and Kosuke Maezono for further information and future collaboration! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/g_D2XXqQ
