It’s one of the last things we work on in the course of a Brand Activation Project at Ideometry. Once clients have approved (and are thrilled by) the Messaging & Positioning guidelines, our design team jumps in to hammer out the brand’s visual identity. Last, but certainly not least! Good typography helps create a pleasing, consistent experience for users and can significantly influence how users perceive the content you have displayed. It’s more than just a font—we include a modular typographic and spacing scale to make creating consistent layouts a breeze. We also apply sizing specifications and grid guidelines to create a design that belongs distinctly to your brand. Consider the elements of typography in use at DebtBook, a leading fintech software platform we had the pleasure of working with. We chose a primary typecase that brings a sense of naturalism and humanity to the world of municipal debt management. It’s a cheerful display slab-serif inspired by the lettering on the Santa Fe Railroad posters that were prominent in the 40s and 50s, with unique curves and a hand-lettered feel that instills warmth and humanity.
