The AFSH Summit side-event “Mapping Organic Feedstocks in Africa: A Step Towards Nature-Positive Fertilizer Production” hosted innovative talks on organo-mineral fertilizers! On May 7, the side-event in Nairobi, Kenya focused on new developments in African agriculture through the use of organo-mineral fertilizers. Ruben Sakrabani, Professor of Soil Chemistry at Cranfield University, led the discussion on OMFs and their positive impact on smallholder farmers in Africa. Through the application of OMFs, crop nutrients and soil health can be greatly improved. Additionally, the side event presented a live survey where reports from 95% of side event participants showed that farmers in their country would be interested in trialing organo-mineral fertilizers.
