About us
The International Foundation for Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD) is a registered nonprofit education and research organization dedicated to informing, assisting, and supporting people living with a chronic digestive disorder. Functional gastrointestinal (GI) and motility disorders are a group of conditions that can affect any part of the digestive tract. They are among the most common conditions of GI function in the general population, affecting an estimated 1 in 4 people or more in the US - men, women, and children. Yet there continues to be a general lack of awareness in the public about these chronic and often debilitating conditions and many still suffer in silence. Founded in 1991, IFFGD works with patients and their families, physicians, nurses, practitioners, investigators, regulators, employers, and others to broaden understanding about these conditions, support and encourage research, and improve digestive health for all affected. Such a great day of with all stakeholders - patients, researchers, physicians , FDA, and NIDDK. I am so grateful to all the people who took time out of their schedule to fly to DC for this important meeting. We will continue moving forward until we have more options for treatments for the gastric paresis community.
A huge thank you to the International Foundation for Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD) for arranging and inviting me to participate in a critically important #Gastroparesis Thought Leaders meeting with insightful input from brave and resilient gastroparesis patient warriors, FDA, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), industry colleagues, and expert colleagues from across the country. This will kick off collective efforts towards the development of more effective and much needed treatments for our patients in the future. #gastroparesis #neurogastroenterology #guthealth #gutbrainaxis #gut #gastrointestinalhealth #clinicalresearch #clinicaltrials #diabetes #medicine #collaboration
