Congratulations to Courtney Schwerin O’Reilly on being named a 40 Under 40 recipient at the Cardiac Arrest Survival Summit 2023!
Courtney's journey into sudden cardiac arrest preparedness and survival was fueled by her impressive background in social services and public health. As Executive Director of Illinois Heart Rescue (ILHR), she has tirelessly worked to save lives and improve outcomes for cardiac arrest patients across Illinois.
From providing free AEDs and manikins to underserved communities through a community action grant, to training thousands in CPR, Stop the Bleed, and opioid overdose response, Courtney's initiatives have touched countless lives. Her "Learn to Save a Life in 5 Minutes or Less" program has even reached major public events, including Chicago Cubs games and the Scott Air Force Base Air Show.
Beyond these impactful programs, Courtney’s leadership prioritizes health equity. ILHR's use of diverse and female-breasted CPR manikins highlights her commitment to addressing disparities in care. As an advocate for every link in the Chain of Survival, her work ensures better preparedness and awareness in the fight against sudden cardiac arrest.
Courtney, thank you for your dedication, innovation, and tireless advocacy. Your work inspires us all.
