In Kenya, we are in the era of free education—but the majority of children from the urban poor are being excluded. A new report from the African Population and Health Research Center reveals that at least 47% of children from major low-income urban areas in Kenya attend low-fee private schools and do not currently benefit from the Free Primary Education (FPE) initiative, despite being designed to support them.
