What does it take to unlock the economic future of young women—right where they are, on their own terms? Our partner Educate!’s livelihood bootcamps were recently featured in a short film - “Taking the Alternative Path” - that highlights the barriers faced by young #women unable to access formal #education across rural Kenya. It follows Jackline, Precious, and Beatrice on their path to economic independence.

“Half of the students completing Grade 6, lack foundational numeracy skills. If a learner struggles with a simple subtraction problem such as 61 minus 12, it indicates a systemic failure in early education.” ~ Dr. John Mugo Zizi Afrique Foundation in collaboration with partners in Kenya's education ecosystem held the first-ever numeracy co-creation workshop to discuss the broader implications for STEM in improving learning outcomes in Kenya.
