  • Throwback to the second thematic campaign on Integrated Farming System. The goal of the campaign's second day was to raise awareness of integrated agricultural systems as a way to boost output and resource efficiency. Inclusive Agricultural Development in the Coastal Zone was blessed to acknowledge Professor Dr. Gopal Saha as an expert for the session. Beginning of the conversation, farmers' perspectives on the integrated approach were first heard. Our expert made an effort to demonstrate the diverse integrated methodologies used by numerous NGOs and government-sponsored initiatives in our nation. Subsequently, he emphasized the advantages of using any integrated agricultural system. At the conclusion of the conversation, the farmers stated that they would be eager to implement this strategy under the guidance of any professional. #inclusive_agricultural_development #empowering_coastal_belt_farmers #iagcz

  • On 11 July of July, A field visit to Jamla, Sreerampur was held to upskill the farmers through field-based experiences. Many fields, including the blending of crops with other aspects (livestock, fish, trees, etc), were identified by Inclusive Agricultural Growth in the Coastal Zone for the visit. We went on a field trip near Jamla with our expert, Dr. Gopal Saha (Professor, Department of Agronomy), and farmers from the coastal belt. The farmers of each field discussed the particular issues they ran across while implementing this integrated strategy during the duration of the visit. Dr. Gopal Saha made an effort to provide farmers with practical and flexible alternatives. Presumably, these real-based field visits will help farmers increase their capacity. #inclusive_agricultural_development #empowering_coastal_belt_farmers #iagcz

  • We are delighted to announce that as part of our second thematic campaign, specialists and farmers from the coastal belt will join us for a field visit close to Jamla, Sreerampur. These demonstrations' main objective is to raise farming production by using the highest-performing varieties and fertility practices. The farmer will share their farming stories which will create a better understanding of the problems they faced during crop cultivation. Also, our specialists will discuss their views on the farming strategy used in the current field and offer solutions that will assist the farmers to prosper economically. It will be shown how to combine several enhanced agronomic approaches on various crops. The capacity-building of coastal farmers will be aided by learning more about the benefits and drawbacks of employing chemical fertilizers, better varieties, soil, water, and crop management techniques. #inclusive_agricultural_development #empowering_coastal_belt_farmers #iagcz

  • Dear altruists, Are you eager for some amazing updates? So are we, which is why Inclusive Agricultural Growth in Coastal Zone has come up with its second thematic campaign on Integrated farming System. In order to increase production, efficiency, and resource use, Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) refers to a sustainable agricultural method that incorporates several agricultural operations and components. These systems seek to increase output while reducing harmful environmental effects. The main elements of any IFS are crops, livestock, and trees. Many Transformations of the agricultural systems have been occurring in Bangladesh's coastal region. The sustainability of farming techniques is crucial for the long-term livelihood, food security, and adaptability of the coastal population. People in coastal zones need to raise awareness about using their fallow homestead to practice an Integrated Farming System due to the paucity of arable land. This strategy tries to lessen micronutrient deficits while enhancing family food security. Also, raising small livestock close to the home together with cultivating crops will be able to support the household financially. In this region, ongoing land degradation puts family food security in jeopardy. Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) may be the answer to halt land degradation and restore production. The IFS can eliminate all these restrictions by not only resolving the majority of the economic and even ecological issues that are now present, but also by supplying the necessary production tools, such as fuel, fertilizer, and feed, in addition to greatly boosting output. #inclusive_agricultural_development #empowering_coastal_belt_farmers #iagcz

  • Dear changemakers, Now it is time to introduce the enthusiastic folks who are in charge of the project. As the project is growing rapidly, their addition to the team will significantly assist us in achieving our project goals. With newer perspectives and ideas, Inclusive Agricultural Growth in the Coastal Zone hopes to bring a new dimension to our coastal regions. Without the core team, it is incredibly challenging to accomplish project goals. Let's welcome them today with open arms to be a part of our strong team! We hope together we can help the project grow bigger and impact broader. #inclusive_agricultural_development #empowering_coastal_belt_farmers #iagcz

  • We are excited to introduce our collaborators for the second day's awareness and capacity-building session on "Importance of Soil Testing”, for coastal belt farmers. iPAGE is a climate-smart agritech firm from Bangladesh that has won many UN awards and is the National ICT Champion. It uses data, machine learning, and AI to help farmers produce wisely and connect with end consumers. The company is creating an artificially intelligent market engine and decision support system for agriculture that facilitates win-win transactions while providing farmers and ecosystem partners with useful information. iPAGE will essentially aim to show how the soil testing kit is utilized in the interactive knowledge-sharing campaign. The conversation will also encourage farmers to improve their farming methods. We are grateful for all of their efforts to utilize our lands to the fullest. #inclusive _agricultural_development #empowering_coastal_belt_farmers #iagcz

  • We are honored to have Dr. Mohammad Asadul Haque (Professor from the Department of Soil Science) as the second speaker in our 2nd day's awareness-raising and capacity-building program. Due to the water table rise the soils of the coastal belt exhibit various problems like soil salinity, fluctuation in pH, nutritional imbalance, etc. Without soil testing this problem remain unidentified, leading to less production & act as a constraint for agricultural growth. Being an expert on the nature of coastal soil and the nutritional status & short-comings of those soils, Professor Dr. Mohammad Asadul Haque will address different problems associated with the soils of this region and will also provide directions to identify this problem through soil testing and probable solutions to get rid of them. Along with that, he will also suggest different crops that are preferred to cultivate and can be grown well in those soil conditions of the coastal zone, which can be prescribed easily and appropriately by soil testing. All of this will ultimately lead to inclusive agriculture growth by assisting the farmers to overcome the barriers of the coastal zone. #inclusive_agricultural_development #empowering_coastal_belt_farmers #iagcz

  • We are thankful to have Ms. Ismita Akter Soniya as the moderator and first speaker on our second day's session of the Crop Demonstration campaign. She is the Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) of Dumki, Patuakhali. The problems in farming raised due to lack of soil testing are mostly encountered by the extension officers, as they work practically on the field with the farmers. Crop failure, less yield, crop quality degradation, etc. are some results of growing specific crops on inappropriate soils. Facing this problem living on the field and seeing the consequences as an Agriculture Extension Officer, Ms. Ismita Akter Soniya will be the best individual to share knowledge about the necessity of doing soil testing in crop cultivation. Besides, sharing her vast practical knowledge we think she is the right person to make the farmers understand about advantages of soil testing and also the adversities they are going to face if they don’t follow it. Overall, we believe that she will be able to encourage the farmers in soil testing & help to achieve sustainable agricultural growth & productivity in this zone. #inclusive_agricultural_development #empowering_coastal_belt_farmers #iagcz
