Foreign direct investment (FDI) into India has crossed the historic $1 trillion mark between April 2000 and September 2024, highlighting the country's position as a prime global investment destination. According to data released by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), cumulative FDI inflows, including equity, reinvested earnings, and other capital, reached $1,033.40 billion during this period. Mauritius and Singapore were among the largest contributors, with Mauritius accounting for 25% ($177.18 billion) and Singapore contributing 24% ($167.47 billion). The US led with 10% ($67.8 billion). Other notable contributors included the Netherlands (7%), Japan (6%), and the UK (5%). The investment spanned key sectors such as services, computer software and hardware, telecommunications, trading, construction development, automobiles, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. #india #investors #singapore #america #mauritius #investment #growth #indianstartupnews
