📢 The U.S. Department of Commerce awarded ITI member SK hynix up to $458M under the CHIPS and Science Act to advance U.S. semiconductor innovation. This funding supports a $3.87B investment in West Lafayette, Indiana to build a memory packaging plant and an advanced packaging R&D facility in partnership with Purdue University. NEW: The European Data Protection Board’s (EDPB) published its opinion on the use of personal data for #AI models, which can set a precedent for how European #Data Protection Authorities interpret and apply the #GDPR to certain aspects of AI development and use. The Bipartisan U.S. House AI Task Force’s report reflects an important bipartisan effort to advance American leadership in AI #innovation. In a new statement, ITI President and CEO Jason Oxman urges the 119th Congress to build on this work.
