  • Thought would share this especially I am seeing way too many news/updates about professional instability in people's lives. Be grateful to have a stable job, as in the current environment it's a blessing and doubly grateful if you think you have a good/supportive manager. If any of you experience the benefits of having such a manager the note below is a reminder to send them a quick message letting them know you appreciate what they do for you. Do it now :-) And if you're a leader think about whether you're being the best manager you can be for your people/team! Thanks Dr. Christian Poensgen for sharing!

  • This brief video resonated with me as so much of my focus w/helping folks is around amplifying self-awareness and realizing (subtle) signals your body/mind may be giving you to pick up. I love the tie-in to regret that may help you course-correct, sooner than later, and perhaps totally avoid a situation that you may regret later. Thanks Wade Riniker, CPC, ELI-MP for sharing! And for those who want to delve into the theme of regret I highly, highly recommend this book: The power of regret: how looking backwards moves us forward by Daniel Pink!

In a "Conquering Regret" webinar last week, I discussed the balance of Awareness and Effort. Heightened Awareness often needs the least amount of Effort to resolve or avoid regret. Remind yourself of that. How would you describe your level of Awareness now? What qualifies as a "Seed of Regret" that you may want to tamp out now before it grows? Heightened Awareness...small amount of Effort. DM me if you want to watch the webinar replay!

  • A great video to emphasize the point that maybe dealing with the hardest things makes sense to allow for best use when you have best energy as opposed to starting with the easy stuff.. interesting for me to consider as a coach I have focused a lot on enabling the easier/microsteps to help an individual gain momentum to do the big stuff once they have satisfaction of progress… but maybe if you’re in a race w/someone else you need to re-think that approach!!

Do You Tackle the Hard Stuff First or Ease Into Your Day? When it comes to managing tasks, there’s always this age-old debate: Do you knock out the easy tasks first or dive straight into the hard ones? Some argue that starting with the easy stuff builds momentum. Those quick wins give you a confidence boost, setting a positive tone for the rest of your day. It’s like checking boxes off a list—you feel productive and energized. But others believe the opposite. They say you should tackle the hardest tasks first when your energy and focus are at their peak. Once the big challenges are out of the way, everything else feels like a breeze. But here’s the twist: What if burning through your energy on hard tasks early leaves you too drained to finish the rest? Or what if starting small makes you procrastinate on the big stuff altogether? Personally, I’ve seen both approaches work depending on the situation. But I’d love to hear from you: Which do you prefer—easing in with the small stuff or taking on the heavy hitters first? Drop your thoughts in the comments below! Let’s see where the majority stands. 👇

  • Here's some Monday inspiration for everyone!! Who do you look up to; who do you look forward to and who do you chase? Very well said in the video below. Thanks Michael Krayenhoff for sharing!

Stop chasing success. Start chasing the person you’re meant to be. I love the way Matthew McConaughey puts this, his hero is always 10 years ahead of him. He’ll never catch up, but that’s the point. Because success isn’t about arriving. It’s about never standing still. Here’s how he keeps going and growing: 1/ Have something to look up to. ↳ A belief, a principle, a purpose: to stay grounded. ↳ When things get tough, it’s your north star. 2/ Have something to look forward to. ↳ A dream, a goal, the people you love: this fuels you. ↳ It gives meaning to the work, the struggle, the effort. 3/ Chase the future you. ↳ Who do you want to be in 10 years? ↳ Keep learning, keep evolving, keep reaching for that version of yourself. No finish line. No standing still. Just forward momentum. Who are you chasing? ♻️ Repost to inspire your network. • The video is nice to look at BUT more importantly is the key nugget: Don’t hesitate to start on something because you think you’re behind someone else.. just START!! Every small step creates positive momentum for you and you never know where you may end-up in the end.. Have an inspired weekend all! And thanks Tarachand Verma for sharing!

  • Thankful for another positive recommendation for the value my coaching brings to people's lives. 😇

Grateful to have received another positive recommendation from Aditya whom I was able to help! Coach Riju is awesome! I got in touch with him regarding a professional and a concurrent (unrelated) personal issue. He first provided me with the tools and guidance to realize my own true strengths, weaknesses and priorities. We then worked through me identifying a sustainable resolution in line with my life goals and priorities. It has now been over 6 months, and his coaching has positively impacted my professional and personal life in the best possible ways! Through this process, he was always incredibly supportive, communicative, proactive, and positive, often taking initiative to check in on me, and being very flexible with scheduling our sessions. I highly recommend Riju as a coach for any possible dissonance one might feel in their current life - regardless of how big or small the issue might seem! Thank you Dr. Aditya R (Assoc Prof, Pathology, Mayo Clinic) for your kind words! 😊

11 French concepts that will change your life (And some French wisdom that changed mine) A tour guide said something that changed my life: “It’s not that the French love protesting. But we simply won’t accept mistreatment. You shouldn’t either.” (We were walking near a retirement age protest.) Those words stayed with me the whole trip. I made some big changes when I got home. - I said “au revoir” to my job. - I put up firm boundaries in my life. - I chose my happiness & mental health. I’ve since adopted a French mindset. I hope these 11 French concepts change your life, too: 1/ Joie de vivre (Joy of living) ↳ Life should be lived, not worked. 2/ Flâneur (Mindful wanderer) ↳ Leave space for idle dreaming. 3/ Savoir-faire (Know-how) ↳ Quality over quantity, aka do less better. 4/ Bon vivant (Good living) ↳ The greatest joys are found in simple things. 5/ Métro, boulot, dodo (Commute, work, sleep) ↳ Don’t get stuck in the daily grind. 6/ C'est la vie (That’s life) ↳ Accept what you cannot change. 7/ Bien dans sa peau (Comfortable in one's skin) ↳ Let go of the weight of others’ judgments. 8/ Raison d'être (Reason for being) ↳ Get up every day for a reason that isn’t work. 9/ Chacun voit midi à sa porte (Noon sees your door) ↳ Your perspective is limited, but the world is vast. 10/ Occupe-toi de tes oignons (Take care of your onions) ↳ Mind your own gosh darn business. 11/ Au petit bonheur la chance (To small joys goes luck) ↳ Detach from the outcome of your desires. If you feel boxed in, find a new perspective. It can set you free. Q: Which of these was your favorite? ♻️ Repost to help someone else 🔔 Follow Ashley Couto for daily careers & AI
