Starting off June by giving back to our community! We are proud to be able to volunteer at the YMCA Camp Surf and enhance the campus experience for the young adventurers. All together, we planted 8 new fruit trees, revamped the herb garden and cleared the campus of invasive plants. Thank you #teamSDGE and YMCA for the opportunity. Green thumbs all around!

Update from our team: - CEO Amara gave back to the community administering medical care to orphans in Thailand. - Bill and Canyon participated in the 37th Annual Navy Run/Walk over the Coronado Bay Bridge. - Tyler, Jed, and Nima saw new heights on top of the Sierra Nevada Mountains while climbing Mt Whitney.

Congratulations to all of the award-winning J. Mike Walker '66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University Senior Capstone Design teams! Overall Capstone 1st place (tied): ARCOL The ARCOL project began as a student-proposed project that received funding from the department. The team racked up wins along the way, including being selected to be part of the NSF I-Corps Site program, collaborating with a team in France, winning second place in the SICK$10K Challenge win, and finally winning the overall showcase award! Overall Capstone 3rd place: SATOP OGRE Skin Test Rig The team designed a small-scale testing rig which included several forms of impact and compression testing. MEEN 1st place: Halliburton Continuous Cement Mixing Head Redesign The team developed a solution that would reduce the time and effort required to clean a continuous concrete mixing head and increase the equipment’s longevity. MEEN 2nd place (tied): ChampionX Pipeline Displacement Detection Unit The team designed a drone-deployable technology that can precisely locate and measure pipelines. MEEN 2nd place (tied): Parking Alert Service Project The team created a parking alert system that will alert a vehicle if they park too close to a car with a wheelchair ramp in a handicapped spot. #capstoneproject #seniordesign #tamuMEEN
