This week's episode of the Inside UXR podcast takes us all the way back to the beginning - our first episode! For those you haven't been with us from the very start, you can learn more about both me and Joseph Marcantano, our UX journeys, and our favorite research methods. If you have been with us from the start , you can listen again and laugh at how much worse we used to be (at least I hope we're better now! :p) This episode has been remastered now that we know more about what we're doing audio quality wise. We'll be back with a brand new episode on Jan. 6. Enjoy!

When evaluating a UX moderator, one of the benchmarks I use is how comfortable the moderator makes the participant. We almost all say some variation of "I'm not testing you, you're helping us test the product" as part of our intro spiels, but how much we actually make the participant believe that it's true is one of the things that differentiates a passable moderator from a rockstar. Listen to this week's episode of Inside UXR to here Joseph Marcantano and I discuss the ways that we try to make all of our participants as comfortable and at ease as possible.

UXR moderation, facilitation, whatever you call it is part art and part science. As Joseph Marcantano said in this week's Inside UXR episode, the ability to be flexible and adapt while continuing to go towards the research goals is super important. While we can't tell you directly how to be more flexible, we can give you more tools that you can choose from as situations call for them. Listen to this week's episode to hear our good, better, best suggestions!

And now for something completely different ... Get to know Drew out from behind the Inside UXR mic a little bit more. I love listening to music and it's almost always the background to my working hours. Here's what I've been listening to this year!
